Fortunate that Everton did not have a proper striker playing today. But that is their problem, not ours.
Perhaps we misread AVBs' "solidification" strategy. Playing so dire, yet within grasp of all these "big" clubs. Will be bladder burstingly hilarious if this March is a repeat of April 2010.
No sympathy for Everton as I remember in Redknapps final season we lost away to Everton 1-0, we battered them in that game but just couldn't score so mini Redknapp gets some revenge and puts us in a position to fight for top four.
"No sympathy for Everton" It happens. All we do know this season is that a team with decent strikers that turn up against Spurs, will punish us.
Next up away to Newcastle and they have no Cabaye or Remy unless he's back from his ban. Cisse is hopeless. Great chance for back to back wins as Newcastle have real problems at the moment with injuries.
It's not our fault that you played without a striker, then subbed off your only approximate facsimile for a winger, Tobes!
That makes me very happy that we beat your arses, correction you were ****e because you failed to score despite out muscling us in the first half. Second half you ran out of ideas and our spawny ****s won
Big win after mediocre play. Everton pressed harder in the first half and controlled it, we returned the favor for much of the second half. We don't look like a top four team at the moment, but there's still time for us to start playing like one. An interesting, and somewhat lucky, foray for Sherwood into playing a more conservative setup. Rose was our best player for much of the game, and our only real threat other than Adebayor. Lennon's wince after a run convinces me he's carrying an injury, as I suspected. Neither team looked like they believed in themselves very firmly. The difference was more quick thinking from Walker, and the sort of finish you would pay millions for, and have--while their quality striker was out hurt. Bentaleb was better than Paulinho today. Eiriksen needs to play as a #10 against decent teams, not on the left. Best thing about the game: we actually saw it out solidly, pressing the ball and stopping them from looking comfortable. Holtby is doing what I thought he would.
"More importantly, we're only 3 points - and, er, a small matter of 33 goals behind the mousers!" Are you sure about that ?? The way they've been going on, I could have sworn twas 33 pts and 3 goals behind.
