See any bargains? 4/11 Fulham 10/11 Cardiff 6/4 Palace 15/8 Sunderland 2/1 Norwich 5/2 WBA 4/1 West Ham 7/1 Stoke, Tigers 10/1 Villa, Swansea For me, Norwich might be the best value at those prices. Best prices here: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation
Swansea. They win a game under a caretaker manager and suddenly they have only a one in eleven chance of going down? 10/1 looks good value.
I'd say their price is down to a combination of two factors: A lot of money placed pre-season and pre-December backing them to go down, keeping the price low. Punters (and media) continuing not to rate them, and expecting their bubble to burst. Frankly I've been one of them - but I'm not going anywhere near them at 6/4. Very stingy price.
Using SB's guideline that 10 wins (plus around 8-10 draws which you'd expect if a team wins 10) then studying the table all the teams in the bottom half need between 3-5 wins to be safe. Over 13 games, 5 wins is a lot to ask for. If you have a quick look at the remaining fixtures, then Sunderland have a horrendous run of away fixtures (Norwich being the one considered 'winnable') but their remaining 6 home games are all '6 pointers' and I reckon they will need to win at least 4 of those 6 - a big ask. I can't see Cardiff winning 5 games and Fulham will need to win 6 due to their lack of draws so far this season.
I don't think WBA are bad odds, performed poorly under their new manager, and not got that bounce most new managers get. Really think they will struggle, hard for a foreign manager to come in and change things when your in the bottom three.
The 10 wins theory was before he knew how tight it was at the bottom. I bet 8 or 9 will be enough this season.
IF Hull City win tonight then i dont see many people if any wasting anymore wonga on us to go down. With the exception of Erik of course.
