    Surely......

No you can't blame the weather, the board, the pitch, the players.

You are an incompetent buffoon who has hidden behind the blindness of our middle class plastic minges that have supported you long enough....

Why does supporting Chrissy Powell make you middle-class? Who would you replace him with? (Yawn)

Quite frankly a garden gnome placed outside the dugout would be more influential than a man who has all the technical nous of a baked potato.

I did not say supporting, soon to be replaced by a gnome, makes you middle class, I said he has hidden behind their patronage for too long.

SUPPORTED YOU FOR LONG ENOUGH you continue to imply that it is only middle class fans who support him.
Good point about the gnome though, you may be right.
I imagine that a garden gnome would have got us promoted from League 1 with a record points haul, would have seen the potential in Yann, in Haynes, in Harriot, in Cousins.

No it's not just middle class fans that have no sense of 'right now counts' realism.

Would have seen potential in Haynes, Yann, etc winning league with a record points total, are you serious? That's like saying you swam the channel but in reality as a corpse washed up on a beach in Calais.

Typical, what is it about our fans you hate? It seems the only thing that would make you happy is the entire home crowd baying for sackings after every game. Yet at the start of this season, you said you did'nt enjoy the Premiership success thing and enjoyed life as an Addick when things were tough.
Another defeat = another knee jerk reaction, and hey, the fans are bovril drinkers/middle slass/cardigan wearers etc etc. Honestly, if we're going to generalise, I'd have to say tonight you must be over the moon as it provides another chance to let fly at the fans and the manager.

Why even bring up social class then?

So it's his fault Yann, Haynes etc have gone?
I was merely challenging you excellent suggestion about the gnome.

Ken, I have spent 30 years at the valley and it is apparent that we have some real minges in our ranks that have made supporting cafc a bit like living in a care home for the socially apologetic and the realistic disabled.

I can take defeat , I enjoy competing hard, but I don't do pathetic excuses and political correctness. When your not good enough, your not good enough and if you don't cut it, and I am paying your wages, your entitled to get stick. You wouldn't accept it from any other profession, so why here? This club is suffering from a real inability to realise that the grandiosement of some of our fans who have ruined this club for so many by applying that PC nonsense before results.

24 points is a total embarrassment, I wonder why it's enough for some? I really do.

Okay, I agree with most of that. This season is turning into a nightmare, and some of the performances have been awfull. I've been a suporter since 1974 more or less, and other season like this have always ended in relegation (maybe apart from that one with Lennie Lawrence when we drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge and sent Chelsea into a play off while we stayed up.) But...
the squad we've got is still crap. Jackson sounds past it, Evina and Pritchard are'nt good enough, and some of CP's decisions are awfull. I've been saying for a while his learning curve is'nt very steep. But given the limitations we've got in the squad, who would do better?
I don't see political correctness has any place here. You're either good enough, or you're not, regardless of nationality or race issues. But what's that got to do with today? We played better than lately, gave away two crap goals and could'nt even score one. It's a miserable saturday again, but the rumours I hear are that we may be turning a corner.
Most people came out of the transfer window feeling we were worse off. Is that CP's fault? Or the fans?

How stupid of me not to see it before!

How polically correct? I support our manger. I think he will be gone soon. I hope he isn't. I disagree with you. That makes you the voice of the real fans and me dealing in middle class angst and polical correctness? Why?

The points total demand a sacking. The excuses demand clarification, the substitutions are unfathomable. The performances are simply woeful.

Why do we have so much support for a manager who is not up to picking his nose let alone a professional side. All I hear is nice bloke (which I think is code) but a manager who should be given an extra long chance to proove himself. The English have a loveable but annoying tendency to mask their real prejudices with overt patronising of the diverse and those with little talent, Eddie Edwards, Frank Bruno, Lennie Henry, and going back to Dorando Petrie (look him up) in 1908.

I do believe one can change his class in life...

I used to be lower class when I lived in a Thamesmead council flat.

I sank even lower when I lived on the streets and used to steal fruit from markets stalls.

I hit a personal nadir when I once tried to commit suicide in a churchyard in Waltham Abbey; I was too weak to even break the skin of my wrists with a broken bottle.

But now I exist somewhere between upper-class and supreme-being-class.

I don't know if I support Chris Powell, though.

Positives for me today were threefold- Poyet looks a player and a half. Astrid looks decent. And Reza will score goals if he beefs up a bit.

    BUT.....the negatives...where do you start ?

I was behind the goal for their first- Richard Wood actually DUCKED and left it. Evina gave just about the worst, most piss poor performance I have ever seen from a Charlton full back. The End for that clown surely?. Powell left it far too late to bring the Pole on when Sordell was once again stinking the ground out. JJ proved again his legs have gone..

AND WHAT IS COUSINS DOING PLAYING OUT OF POSITION ON THE RIGHT , FFS <grr>

The support and general lack of anger sums up why fans from other clubs laugh at us. It was cringeworthy. I actually saw a handful of anoraks in the CE clapping those w**kers as they walked off at full time, the remnants of their runny eggs for breakfast still visible on their greasy double chins. Where do we get these fans?

Widespread gossip around the CE today that Powell definitely going at the end of his contract. I would make it the end of today.

    Agree about Cousins.

But, judging by the comments on the other thread, we played OK. I guess that's why some fans applauded them off. I think every club has some fans who applaud the players after every single game, no matter how bad the performance was.

Are all our players w**kers then?

And typical, Powell has our support because of his previous record at Charlton as manager. Nothing whatsoever to do with middle class guilt.
