If Arsenal were playing well then we probably wouldn't. Its very rare you get two sides deemed to have played well. Do you not think Liverpool's pressing, pace and general quality were a factor in Arsenal playing poorly?
Yes. Do you think arsenal playing poorly was a factor in making it easy for Liverpools game of pressing, pace and general quality?
I'm not on the wum either, but considering that before today's game there wasn't many points between the 2 sides your basing how good this Arsenal side is on previous seasons and by default basing your view on us the same way, we could have beaten you whether or not you played well or piss poor, for you to suggest otherwise based on this season means your very wrong.
Impossible to say as its normally attacking players that change games. If Liverpool hadn't have pressed then Arsenal would have played a lot better. You guys got a knock out blow in the opening twenty minutes and it took you far too long to recover. They were shell shocked. The first goal was a fantastic ball by Gerrard that your defence and keeper could do very little about. We also got fortunate with the ricochets. The second was poor marking so I'll give you that one although some would say it was good movement had it been another team or player. The third was us cutting you apart, I don't think you did much wrong. The fourth was all about the quality vision of Coutinho and pace of Sturridge. However, you could say whoever gave possession away to Coutinho was at fault or you could look at you CB's letting Danny get through the middle of them. Since this was the fourth, the game was already over anyway. The fifth was again about vision (can't recall who) and the pace of Sterling but again, we got fortunate with the ricochet. You goal was a very poor decision by Gerrard. He'd just got away with one too. The arsenal player wasn't going anywhere so Stevie should have just stood up.
Where have I suggested that anyway? I'm not saying you wouldn't have won had we played better. You quite clearly could have. I'm just saying that Arsenal playing poorly contributed to your win. It wasn't ALL down to your own brilliance. It would be like me saying winning at the Emirates was all down to our brilliance and nothing to with your 3-5-2 setup.
That's not even logic! IF you accept that Liverppol's pressing, pace and general quality were a factor in Arsenal playing badly then Arsenal played badly because of Liverpool's pressing, pace and general quality. The standard of Liverpool's pressing, pace and general quality was not dependant upon the quality of Arsenal's play.
Not having that cini mate, if we take that logic every losing team deserves to lose and vice versa, but as with every club we've played poor in games and won or drew, look at the stats from today's game and consider the possession Arsenal had and the amount of shots on target, if your tactics were right on the day and your attempts on goal better it would have been a completely different game. Bottom line is we have to decide who deserved to win and clearly Arsenal never, that's based on stats goals etc, on the other hand I could point to games like at City were we deserved a result and walked away with none.
hmmmm, tempting. dont want to take the risk though, esp as we are away to fulham and may lose silly points. i quite like the 10 pt gap and for me its top 4, not really looking higher than that at this stage.
If Wenger got Suarez he wouldn't have Ozil. Many people consider him Arsenals best player. Suarez is arguably better than Ozil, but there is no guarantee he would fit as well in Arsenals team as he has with us.
This is pointless to-ing and fro-ing with scenarios that no-one can predict. The only thing that's mildly clear is that we're slightly better than you at beating teams when not playing so well (as evidenced by us being top). But you've played at the top of your game far more times than us this season which is annoying. Can't remember us really blowing anyone away this year every which is strange given we're only one point from the top. The first 15 minutes against Napoli is the only one i can think of. We're offensively blunt and rely on some amazing attacking midfielders to get us 1 or 2 goal wins. We need some pace and power back in it team again like you have now.
Again your logic let's you down: 1) You are not top of the table - Chelsea are 2) On what basis do you state that we have "played at the top of your game far more times than us this season". If you look at our early results you will find that we didn't play 'well' throughout many games in the first half of the season. 3) Your shortcomings in attack having nothing to do with us and an evaluation of our forwards. 4) Your "amazing attacking midfielders" didn't turn up today.
Been at work today so was getting updates by text from enricky (who was skiving) and for 20 mins it was going off every few minutes. Incredible result. Look forward to seeing extended highlights later. Need this consistency every game starting next game.
1) top, 2nd whatever. We're ahead of you. 2) on the basis of my opinion. You've trashed us, Spurs Everton and that's recently. Who've we trashed? 3) who said our attacking shortcomings had anything to do with your forwards or even today's game? 4) so what? Are they now not amazing?? If our attacking midfielders (who are the strongest players in our team) aren't amazing as you are suggesting, how have we got 5 points ahead of you? You've highlighted nothing about my logic. All you've done is disagree with my opinions in your usual biased and mildly aggressive and confrontational way.
Definately not. Don't want the mancs to win another game this season thank you. Seeing them where they are is almost as enjoyable as seeing us in fourth.
