HBA is clearly a luxury player who we just cannot afford.

This result (albeit we played ok in patches) could destroy us confidence wise.

I am actually so downbeat that its not getting to me much.

Anyone else feel the same. Its like the stuffing is well and truly beat out of me and I have nothing left to give!

I wish it was the end of the season!

 

Every single corner. He's the worst of all, tho Steven Taylor is usually a penalty waiting to happen at corners too.

 

I expected it mate as most of us did. We will limp over the line come the end of the season. Finishing 12th or 13th I reckon.

Actually Hull and Villa will still be 10 points behind us, and they're no great shakes. You'd be asking a lot of pretty **** teams to probably get about 20 points between now and the end of the season, and they're probably all playing each other.

In short, we'd have to go some ****ing way not to finish top 10 at this point.

Get Armstrong on for a run out. We might as well make the best of this match.

 

On a different note, how quiet is that ground? SJP would be jumping if we were winning 3-0. Unless its just the stream I'm watching, then this has got to be the quietest I have heard a home ground where the home team is winning.

 

I'm lurking around, all I gotta say is that De Jong will need a long run of games before he will get going, he is not a lone wolf as his physique is not as good as say Sturridge, Eto'o, Bony etc. He needs people around him to function, with his agility he needs a supply of quick short passes to finish off.

 

Marv coming on with 9 minutes left. Should have been on instead of Gosling. The game is over, why give time to a player who has no future here? Why not blood Armstrong? The game isn't too tasty, the crowd isn't overwhelming, the game is over so no pressure. Pardew not making the most of an opportunity to get some sharpness back for Marv and some game time for a promising young player. Poor.

Meh could have been worse. Need to get our players back and try to get something against Spurs. I'd take a draw right now to stop the rot.

 

I think we have learned two big things from today.

HBA is a luxury player who doesn't deserve a place in the starting eleven. He has become a one-trick pony with a tendency to give the ball away in dangerous situations by keeping hold of the ball instead of getting rid of it. At the other end he is greedy. He will score goals, but not often enough to justify his greed. It's a team game and he isn't a team player.

I think Marveaux's chance has gone too. It only took 9 minutes to show why he isn't good enough. i don't mean the miss - tho that was bad enough. Just before that he again showed he is lazy when not in possession. He gave he ball away and then just stood and watched Chelsea attack.

Even if all we find out for the rest of the season is who is good enough and who isn't then the rest of the games don't need to be a waste regardless of results (and there could be quite a few bad ones).

 

sorry for the rants, but this is one ref that really pisses me off

anyway, we never expected to win so we didn't loose out here
we were more looking for a performance from the lads who were able to play
if only we could off taken some of our chances ( just one even) it would of been encouraging
remember that Chelsea took Citeh to the cleaners only last week, and could of won by a larger margin
than what ours was today
