There was a time, maybe you're too young to remember, when there wasn't nearly so much shoving and grabbing at set pieces. A player generally had the decency to at least wait until the ball was on its way before fouling his opponent. Things have deteriorated to the point now where anything goes even before the kick has been taken and that is the fault of referees.
I have't looked for a on line link, but I've just read on another forum that West Ham are to seek legal redress against the FA for refusing to overturn Andy Carroll's red card last Saturday.
Yeah, I read that they are looking to fight the ban and sue Swansea as well. For me, this could open up a whole can of worms in football.
He was awful. Just ****ing dreadful. Fortunately, the 50 or so wrong decisions he made were generally small ones, while he got the one big one right (red card, no penalty).
They need to start to set an example, first a warning & retake of a free kick, a second infringement & there should be a penalty & card/s issued A few occasions when that happened & the offending players would soon stop
He's a **** ref, didn't affect the game today, but he gave out soft yellows and didn't give out some deserved yellows, he's just not good enough.
Still not after saturday. 4 point gap with our better goal difference and you face some toughies over the next few weeks. Bad news for tonights game with the Saints. The REF. is Martin Atkinson. The same one who does not know what a handball is FFS. Remember Swansea away ? nuff said on that one. Would rather have Robert Madley who is the 4th official tonight in the middle.
It was on the line and the line is part of the box. So it should have been a penalty. Matters not thankfully this time.
