His injury record in the last couple of years has been poor & I can understand the reticence to renew his megabugs contract at 32.

I reckon he might have been offered another year come the end of the season if he'd have stayed fit, but he's chosen to chuck the teddy now & say he's leaving in a hissy fit, which says a lot about his character tbh.

If I was Moyes I'd drop the twat, let him rot in the stiffs & concentrate on giving the younger lads game time

Was a class playerca few years ago but isn't the same since his injuries, could probably still do a job when playing at his best, but that is few a far between now, the reality of Moyes' positio is he's inherited an aging and sub-standard squad.

Not sure how it's a hissy fit given the club doesn't seem to want to renew his contract, at least not on the same sort of wages. Plenty of players, Drogba, Eto'o, Beckham etc, have chosen to run their contracts down and go to a club where they know they'll be playing regularly and earning bags of cash as a big name. If the club doesn't want to keep him, I don't see why he wouldn't look to move on.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has paid tribute to Nemanja Vidic following the Serb's announcement that he will depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old, who has already been linked with a move to Inter Milan, will remain as United's captain for the remainder of the season.

And Moyes insists he will continue to rely upon the 6ft 2in centre-back as United try to force their way back into top-four contention this season.

"It was something that we all mutually agreed together," Moyes said. "I think it was the right decision for club and player.

"He has been a brilliant servant for Manchester United. He is captain and it will remain that way until the end of the season.

"He has been a great player for us and we will continue using him."

United will be without injured duo Johnny Evans and Marouane Feillaini for Saturday's game against bottom-of-the-table Fulham, but Phil Jones could be available despite suffering a head injury against Stoke last weekend.

Good Retort Swarbs - he has been one of our better players but has not had many appearances during the past couple of years and I think he is making the right decision to go at the end of the season. The end of another era but I also remember being more pissed of when I heard that "Big Yip Yap" had suddenly departed !

His mate Kezman painted a rather different picture on Talksport this morning. The same fella who stated about a month ago that Vidic was eager to agree a new deal with United. He came across as if the player himself was bitter about it, hence the fact he's making the fact known now, that he's not going to be staying on.

IMO he's well past his peak, he was an absolute monster in his prime, one of the best defenders I've ever seen in the flesh tbh. But injuries have taken their toll & whilst he's still a decent CB, he's nowhere near the player he was.

Matth aint got a clue guys.
If someone signs for United then in Matths eyes, they are instantly elevated to the best in the world in their position.
Like i've said many times, Matth doesnt follow football, he follows Man Utd and knows f**k all else outside of Old Trafford. Very strange.

I was asking the question rather than stating that as my opinion but it seems to be more his choice than the club 's to go.
