Marcelo Biesla - http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/swansea-have-contacted-bielsea-but-he-s-yet-to-reply-to-their-req Oscar Garcia - http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/02/06/tmb-what-swansea-could-expect-from-oscar-garcia/ Patrick Viera - I saw a link, but can't find it now! Argh! Denis Bergkamp - http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/694612423?-1881:1065:t Graeme Jones - http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2014/02/07/4601723/- All the above have been linked - are there any others we should think about?
If you want fitness and pace combined with technique, Bielsa delivers that in his teams. He takes no s**t from players either, so that won't please some. My first choice but I doubt Jenkins will go for him, he's far, far, too big a character for him to deal with. For the same reason, Viera probably won't get close, although I'd love to see the toughness he'd bring combined with the talent we have in the squad. Doubt he'd even want the job though. We'll end up with some milksop, some yes man that our petty little Board feel they can handle.
We'll see, far too early to say that, I think that Zola has the right approach, and would get on well with our board, he's a humble man, and always well liked by the players where ever he's gone, plays the right way too!...............
If he wants the job he should work his way up, from toilet cleaner to coach to manager. G Monk got the gig within 4 hours.
Having had two Big names with Big ego's, what you have to ask yourself is, Will Jenkins go for another if the last one is going to cost us 4.5 Million?
If he feels it will keep us in the Premier League then yeah he will ... As I've said continually if we don't land one of these 'top targets' we willl do no worse under TMT's management. And if we've only won 1 of our next 10 games you can get back to me.
My daughter was in the same class as Bergkamp's daughter before they all buggered back to Holland so she is desperate for him to get the job! Personally I would like Biesla but Dai I hope you are right and Monk will impress and get the points.
Monk can use his experience of working under previous managers having seen how they got us up here, tactics and fitness levels can improve which can balance the fact he has no first hand experience at managing. Also he probably has no big contacts to sign players but the board and hopefully scouts will help deal with that side. If he doesn't cut it it will have given the board time to get the right guy in with less rush and pressure to find a good one.
I hope monk has the confidence to do a martinez but if he doesn't then the board must not make the same mistake of going for a big name again...Now that would be an expensive risk going down the same road as qpr and leeds who are still paying out millions in compensation for past managers and staff. How laudrup thinks he should get £4.5 million is plain stupid and over exaggerated to what he is worth. He fiddles his tax, takes all his other clubs he was sacked or walked away from for millions and now he wants to rip us off.....We dont need any big name manager just a manager that can do the job and i hope monk will pass the test....
So you would be ok for us getting compensation from a club that came in for him if he was under contract, but we are not supposed to pay compensation if we want to cut the contract short.
No there is not, as both revolve around breaking a contract early A contract works both ways, to protect the club as well as the employee. Cant have it both ways.
