Yeah, why not put a cynical interpretation on everything Pochettino said. So he's off to Real Madrid taking Adam with him, Cork's dropped for the rest of the season, and the club's up for sale. Alternatively, why not take what he says at face value, seeing as he seems like an honest chap?
Poyet has brought in Bridcutt, who plays in his position. Best thing he could have done, the guy is total donkey I'm genuinely surprised he's played as many PL games as he has.
Oooh! Get him. He is right that our style involves tackling as well as the pretty stuff...that is possession football. This is why we have dropped down the Fair Play league. Don't think Saints have claimed anything else...it's the press who concentrate on the attractive side of our game. May be right about Gallagher who joined us at 16, but what about our other youngsters. The point is that we play them.
oooh someone's bitter. I remember Mike Pejic playing in the late 70s I think. Left back maybe? I'll go and check.
Laughable Winning tackles and free flowing football have to be at odds with each other? What a buffoon.
Newcastle getting bad publicity. A woman who is disabled and has had her season ticket for thirteen years let her son use it for one match when she couldn't go so he could accompany youngsters that she usually minded. She has had her ticket taken from her and sold on. Obviously it was wrong to let an able-bodied person use her ticket, but the club's response is surely disproportionate...a hearing with a warning in the first instance was surely the way to go. Nicola hasn't got a job at Newcastle, has he? Sorry...wrong thread.
Don't you see? One key feature of "free flowing football" is allowing the goals to freely flow into your net.
Sour grapes. Stoke have always been crap. They must look at us enviously all the time. They're just a bunch of cloggers and a home for our rejects. Pejic was the biggest and clumsiest clogger of the lot. Now that is a Mike Pejic type set of statements i.e. all bitter and nasty.
I don't get his point, probably because there is none. So we bought a number of foreign player; does that deny the fact we offer more game time to our academy products than any other club?
Saints' club historian has been informed today that the club have overturned Cortese's decision not to stock 'All the Saints' - the ultimate guide to every single player that has represented the club. Cortese had agreed to stock the book, but refused to stock the book at a later date due to the authors holding a signing session and evening with numerous ex-players, including Francis Benali and Matt Le Tissier. I know TSS and a couple of others have spoken glowingly of it, and it will be in the club shop before kick-off tomorrow.
Apologies if posted elsewhere but 'the 10 things to look out for in the premier league this weekend' in the Guardian today makes for good reading if you think Cork is bobbing at his best just now..
