Vidic to leave at the end of the season

I'm gutted by this news, i would've kept him.

 

Yep, he is still one of the best CB when on form, we have to respect his choice of new challenge abroad.

Hopefully this now means in the summer we also need a defender too and also hopefully this means next season, Jones can start be playing at CB his natural position rather then playing him in midfield

 

Maybe you could go with him math

 

Sad news. But at least he had 8 wonderful years playing for the team.

 

I wonder why he wants out.

 

he wants a longer contract than what UTD offered him

 

I'm neither suprosed or disappointed to ber honest. We've been defensively weak for a while new and we really need to start building for the future.

I'd give the positions at CB to Evans and Jones for the rest of the season and let them try and establish a partnership.

 

He's past it, like I said in another thread and got shot down. Clearly the legend that is Moyes is on my wave length

 

Only 32, another coach could get another season or two out of him

Think Jose or Carlo could get another season out of him

 

but he wants more than 1 season, so pointless keeping him

 

I'd like to think it's a change of approach from the management.

Our approach over the last few years of ''let's try and get another season out of them'' is exactly what has landed us in this mess in the first place.

Sad as this is, Vidic has had two major knee injuries and any fan who thinks he's been the same since is, frankly, blind. He's played 58 games in three seasons and been nowhere near his excellent best in any of them.

He needed replacing anyway so now we have to. Or do we keep him, like Ferdinand, and blame the manager for their failings, as is happening right now?

Time to move on from Vidic, like we did with all the other great centre halves we've had. Buy a finished article in summer but in the meantime Evans and Jones need to be the new centre half partnership.

 

Vidic has been a good servant to the club.

But time waits for no man and it does look like the right time to move on especially as Moyes is looking to build his own team.
