Losing Vidic isn't a terrible thing as he's looked out of place this season - as has Rio. The problem is losing him for free as. Realistically they need to replace him, Rio, Evra at minimum in the defense, Carrick is 32, Anderson has gone, Nani is going, Kagawa may leave. They have wing capable players - Young, Valencia, Mata, Januzai (not sure how that's spelt), with Rooney, Mata, Januzai for the AM position, so really it's the other 2 midfield spots that need strengthening as Fletcher may not be able to play every game, leaving Fellaini & Cleverly. By my reckoning that leaves them 5 players short of a decent squad, and each player is going to cost 20+m. I can't see them shelling out 100m over summer, so it may be a gradual process.
5 players short of a decent first 11, probably a dozen players short of a decent squad IMO. I think their problems are much deeper than everyone is talking about. I agree with what you say about Vidic though, if you don't have unlimited wealth, unless you have a ready made replacement or two in your youth system, you have to sell your experienced players before they are worthless, so that you can afford to replace them.
I'd say they are definitely a handful of signings off the top teams. A defender or two, a midfield player or two and a full back is probably where I'd start the improvements. It'll be interesting to see if they manage to. Jump straight back into the title race next season or if they need a couple of seasons out of the running.
They might but I don't think they'll come at us from kick off the way Liverpool did surely we'll see some kind of response from our players
AFC PL form after: 3-1 loss to Villa: WWWWW 1-0 loss to Utd: WWWWD 6-3 loss to City: DWWWW and every time: "Our season is over."
In the Prem its just you then, Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea, Spurs. Realistically we should be winning all of those (can't underestimate anyone). The real test is Chelsea, City, Everton. Ideally we'd want to win all 3 but (depending on where we are after the Spurs game I think 2 wins and a draw will be fine).
Indeed but we have lots of silverware unlike you!! And just think losing again a crap UTD, season will be over for Arsenal again for anther season
he wont get it . All those comments about Liverpool and history . Now its time for RED mancs to talk about history too. How sad.
We've been waiting like vultures for the decline to set in, and to top it off agent Moyes from Everton deserves the credit
