We've won at Newcastle and Boro already this season- just need this lot to complete the set.

Hope Daft Lad is playing again

Yes. Was apparently in Newcastle yesterday for a presentation night or something like that and my tour guide today spoke to him. Apparently he was worried he might miss.

    Harper in Newcastle?

    Surely not?!?

Must mean he won't be playing on Sat if he's driving long distances instead of resting for Saturday?

    In your opinion of course.
Not going to try to convince you otherwise. But for me, if the stadium name, the Davy lamp and the pit wheel make people think for one second of the blokes who died doing that God awful work then it's job done.
That said, I'm not sure anyone gave a fook what Hull fans would think of the name, let alone what it stands for.

I honestly don't. Personally I wish it was still Roker Park but that was never going to happen.
Having lost family and friends to the effects of mining I'm proud as punch that our Stadium. recognised by FIFA as one of the best in England, stands as a monument to Sunderland's industrial past.

Wow. Please tell me this is some sort of wind-up?

Did football begin in 2008 for you or something?

If that is the reason for the naming of the stadium then I for one applaud that, it's a pity the KC stadium does not reflect in it's name the many that have been lost fishing over the last century.

As has been said above, if that is why it is called that then fair play.

Ignore Blampey, he likes to argue about every single thing possible.

    It's not.
I've already given you the explanation of the name. You said it was Bollocks. I disagree.

Why not call it the New Camp Stadium of Sunderland or the Sunderland Saint Siro?

There is only one proper Stadium of Light and it ain't on Wearside.

You ain't ever going to get it are you.
Miners lived and died in pitch black. When the lucky ones finished their 12 hour shifts they returned to the light, this happened daily where people now go to watch Football. In a stadium called "The Stadium of Light".
Think about it! Light = Hope for blokes that had nowt except Saturday afternoons and the Football.

    That's a great name.

It's a wonder no other club thought of a name like that.

    Oh, wait.........
