Just got back home, I understand why the thread was closed but with all due respect can't understand why? An Arsenal supporter was outraged because the establishment might have to pay for its wrong doing Should we close every Hillsborough related thread because there's an alternative view?, of course not. Everyone is entitled to their view including him/her and me, I'm not basing my comments on what the papers say or what I read online, so **** everyone that thinks South Yorkshire police deserve to have their legal costs paid when they've been found at fault. Rant over.
Not arsed Dev and I ain't pointing fingers but even after all these years what happened is still fresh in the mind. My friend Roy Hamilton(google his story of what happened on that day)died in the carnage of the Leppings Lane, and when some gobshite says the truth about how and why he died should be brushed under the carpet to protect the tax payers of South Yorkshire even though they've been found to be culpable riles me bigtime. I've been on holidays and had it thrown in my face that "we killed our own" as have others, in that time those responsible have retired on good pensions and haven't give a flying **** about the truth.
I'm fortunate enough to not have lost somebody and it really pisses me off when people come out with it, I've lost count of how many arguments I've had over the years. I was happy for it to stay open so long as the personal attacks were kept out of it which is why I put the comments I did. Like you though, I can see why it was closed. Personally, I think its a shame that these types of threads get closed quickly each time but then, you have to remember that us mods are here to enjoy the site in the same way everyone else is meaning we're not going to sit and monitor something like that so there is a responsibility on all posters to act accordingly (not having a pop at you, I'm sure you can see I was being fair with my comments).
Hiya mate, I closed it and it wasn't because of the Gooner. It had gone off topic and I didn't think it was thread for mucking about on so I closed it and left a comment. Hope that explains it a bit better.
Hotel Inspector on channel 5 now.....Irish Pat who runs Epsteins Bar and Hotel (just by Anfield) on tonight....."a difficult man to work with" she said Understatement of the year that............top, top man though
It's a fine establishment Loved "the breakfast room".....that place is rammed every other Saturday, I notice he neglected to tell her that....bet he got a good price for all her stuff at least
I didn't see all of the programme and I've never been to that obviously fine hostelry. I presume it backs onto the park? Some of the shots made it look like it was on the edge of the countryside rather than smack in the middle of a city, although it might have just been the few minutes I saw.
Very quiet on here this morning, not going to be around much myself, to bloody noisy to stay in with the builders knocking down walls.
