My hope is that Sunderland come at us from the off and make it an open game. That will play right into our hands. At Palace they were happy to park the bus once they went one up. The big pressure to win is on Sunderland as they have 3 awful fixtures after us. A draw would be nice as we have Saints(h) and Cardiff(a) to follow. Much better imo.

We are not good at breaking teams down your best net is to park the bus. Come at us and we will pass the ball around you and into the gaps between your lines.

I think the Stadium of Lightweights is too big for you.

We've come a long way in a short time with ours- conceived when we were Lg 2 trash.

We need a bigger and better stadium- but avoiding a laughably pretentious name like yours.

A tribute to the men who gave their life's working below the very ground the Stadium is built on is "laughably pretentious"??? <doh>

    Have some education...

The Stadium of Light is an all-seater football stadium in Sunderland, England and home to Sunderland A.F.C. With space for 49,000 spectators, the Stadium of Light has the fifth-largest capacity of any English football stadium and the fourth-largest Premier League stadium. The stadium primarily hosts Sunderland A.F.C. home matches. According to Sir Bob Murray then chairman of Sunderland F.C. the name Stadium of Light "was chosen for 2 main reasons; namely as an ever-lasting tribute to the region’s mine-workers and proud industrial heritage and in the expectation that the stadium would be a guiding light in the future. The name is very much a symbolic link to the thousands of miners and Sunderland supporters that emerged from the darkness and into the light every day when they returned to the surface after working in the mine." A Davy lamp monument stands at the entrance to reflect the coal mining industry that brought prosperity to the town.

    No need to thank me.

It's a tacky name shamelessly ripped off from a big Portuguese club.

    Why copy it?

We average 41,000 so our stadium isn't to big for us. If Poyet gets a good team together our stadium will sell out all the time just like it did in the first two seasons under Keane. plus we sold out all the time under Peter Reid to.

Why haven't Hull sold out for Saturday?

Please tell me you're taking the piss.

They have played there since the 50s... it's just a renovation like Wembley.

I'm not a Sunderland gate statto- just know that I see all those faded red empty seats on MOTD most weeks.

I'm sure your gates increase when you're doing well- which club doesn't?

I've no idea if we've sold out or not on Saturday, neither do I know what our allocation is, neither do I care.

We've gathered a few plastic fans in recent seasons.

Are you all still dressing as Plastic Paddies up there or have you changed horses?

Hull allocation for saturday is 2,900 & you haven't sold out just like most away teams coming to Sunderland.

When Sunderland do well our gates increase by about 3,000 so I wouldn't call our fans plastics like. it's just abit rich fans from Hull say our stadium is to big for us when you can't even sell out yours all the time.

Anyway all the best for the season because you lot will need it.

Sunderland is off the beaten track for most fans hence it's not a particular favourite for visitors.

Factor in the .....aah....... modest retail and leisure opportunities of your town centre and voici, les jeux sont faits.

Luck? It's not really about that is it? Skill and talent will out.

And you've got Dozy Jozy <laugh>
