I should reply stating that only the first paragraph of my post is 'fact' - I wouldn't lie about my friend being mates with Ashley Williams. He pops round his house frequently to chill, they text each other, he knows his wife well as well. However, everything beyond the first paragraph is merely my personal opinion. Make of it what you will. Disagree if you please. It's only my take on the situation.

Absolutely spot on, glad to see a Jack with some well needed insight, rather that all the myths surrounding Laudrup's poor management!..............<ok>

How can you post such utter drivel. I have seen you mention 8 wins in a season and a half a few times on this board recently. I have just looked. we won 11 games last season and so far 6 games this season. You do the maths. Why would you want to post absolute rubbish just to try to make your point. Everybody can look it up and see it is an absolute incorrect statement.

So the players, on tens of thousands of pounds a week, couldn't be bothered with their own physical fitness? There are local gymnasts, athletes, triathletes and swimmers who train two or three times a day - for nothing. If they felt they weren't getting basic physical fitness there is no excuse in not arranging it themselves - it's not rocket science.

Yeah.. exactly. Players on tens of thousands of pounds a week. Players with more distractions than any of us could even care to imagine! I agree with you, there is no excuse. But in a way that's ignoring the truth, and the way things actually are. Football players are distracted, spoiled individuals and unfortunately have to be spoon fed.

A good manager leaves no stone unturned. If the manager took care of his squad's fitness levels, there'd be no decision for the players to make. There'd be no issue in the first place. The job of a manager in any job is to eliminate the chances of failure. To produce the most efficient processes for the tasks at hand. A football manager is no different - he should take care of the fitness regime on behalf of his team. In the same way that, for example, IT workers should really self educate themselves and keep up-to-date with current technology, you can't trust workers to do that. So the IT manager organises training for his team so that he knows for sure that his team are up to scratch.

It's too simplistic to just blame the players. The manager is responsible for more than standing at the side of the pitch on match day. He's responsible for everything that goes on within the squad. Everything.

get real people we have had a narrow escape. He may have fooled many on here but he will never fool the ardent fans who saw straight through him and we are being proved right ......The dressing room is relieved to have got rid of the worst manager in the history of the club.(bar cullis who was a joke) You will see a much more determined squad of players now who will want to play for the manager. they despised laudrup with a passion...

PGF your response is spot on, and in an ideal world, those players should live up to their Pro status, but they don't, and bigkidderz response above has nailed it, man I take my hat off to you mate, because you have just nailed our players lack of dedication, regardless of Laudrup, lets see what Monk can do!...........<ok>

The players had to play laudrups .zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz way....but now they will get some better training and play better football and have a manager on the sideline shouting instructions for once.. They will have a manager with some knowledge that knows what he is doing which they have not had for a long time since Brendan was manager,,,,

Assuming everthing reported in the press and in the rumour circles that fitness levels were down are true. If people print and say things , it's human behavior for other people to believe it and run with it

I agree with what you say. But if those complaining were that concerned .....
Both to blame in my book, and the Board for doing nothing earlier. A general malaise allowed to continue for far too long. Who's in charge of the Club? The Board or the manager?..........

Actually gentlemen therer are lots of rumours coming out that Laudrup went missing from training many times and never told the players or staff where he was, this had been happening for a while.

I'm sure there is more to the sacking of Laudrup than we know, and our board would not take this action lightly, in my view we were very patient, many other clubs would have sacked him sooner, and I'm sure even we would have, had his name not been Michael Laudrup! Interesting comment there Project!.............<ok>

If that's true then he has no case at all for unfair dismissal.

Imagine doing that in any other walk of life.

Oh no. I didn't at all mean I didn't believe it. I was making the point that stories are coming out from a variety of sources and whilst we can't corroborate any of them, they piece together to form a story that rings true with what we're seeing on and off the pitch.
