Following this on Twitter, from Joh Marks and the Wobby; Observer_Owl Watford Observer #WatfordFC has confirmed Malky Mackay has not resigned! jonmwfc Jon Marks Latest appears to be that #watfordfc have given Cardiff permission to talk to Malky Mackay
I think it makes sense to give Cardiff permission to speak to Malky, pointless trying to stop him, if he's intent on going.
Meanwhile SkyBet has jumped in hoping to take some cash. http://www.skybet.com/betting/football/manager-specials/t10002896.html
Who knows, Malky might not like their 'vision' the way Shearer did! Must feel a little deflating to be 2nd choce behind a guy who has 8 games experience, with 1 win!
I think he is in the Cardiff coaching set up, so sounds like someone we would get in!! Terry Burton is there, so with Dave Jones gone, I wonder if we could get him back as an assistant!! Always rated him!
Its on the website that he has not resigned but nothing about permission to speak but I guess Marks would know. As for replacements, I wouldn't want Ronnie Moore - hasn't he been sacked more often than not in his last few jobs? I would rather keep with the trend of trying new people, preferably with experience with youth. As someone said though talks might not mean he goes. Maybe he is interested to hear what is on offer. A lot has seemed very wrong about all of this though.
Even Marks is not sure.... jonmwfc Jon Marks More clarification - it's not confirmed that #watfordfc have given Malky Mackay permission to speak to Cardiff... We really need some decent clarification rather than rumours!!
Although I don't want him to go, I would love it if we're all wrong and he's now announced as the new Aston Villa manager!
If only F1... that would be great.... but; WatfordFC_news Watford FC RT @BBCSport: BREAKING: Watford say manager Malky Mackay has been given permission to speak with Cardiff City, reports BBC's Three Counties
http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/Academy18s/0,,10335~1032853,00.html He's very highly rated and some reckon he should have been appointed.
Who remembers early 2005 when Cardiff poached Terry burton, Neal Ardley and Neil Cox in successive months? Cardiff broke rules then, I'm sure they've moved on but I would be careful. I wouldn't mind having Terry Burton back at Vic rd mind as he and Ray Lewington performed miracles after the Vialli affair.
http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2377370,00.html Cardiff given permission to talk now. Lets hope MM says get stuffed!
Why would he - if he has not already more or less made up his mind he could have ended thsi all a few days ago by stating "I signed a new improved contract with Watford in March and knew what I was doing so I wont talk to anyone else" But he has not said that has he?
Leonardo, he might want to stay at Watford and be using this as a bargaining chip with the Watford management to relese more transfer funds (my hope anyway!). Remind them he has other options, and can take them.
