Top man stick -I remember when you put it up first time and your comments about the horse -many thanks!
Oh dear SL beat just one home I won't be rushing to back him anytime soon again. And nice winner on Harristown there stick too.
Well done Stick I wish I'd seen this post though, I looked at Harristown last night but price put me off
There would have been a big write up last night but understandably the owner forbid me. We knew the last two runs were not his true form and recently there had been some real sparkle in his recent work. I was confident he would go in the ground though it wasn't a certainty. We have wanted to get him handicapped to go to the Fred Winter and that run today should almost certainly get him in the race. A big day out at Cheltenham is now very much on the cards and in Rocheys words "win, lose or draw we will get well and truly twisted". A Cheltenham Festival runner for the forum. How exciting!
Sorry Uncle. I assumed you were referring to your signature in your earlier post (re your link, that wasn't there) so guessed that was why it hadn't appeared. I assumed, and guessed, wrongly it would seem.
Long time everyone, just wanted to give a huge big up for the stick...... anyone on here who dares doubt the man should be sectioned. Not only is he a top top bloke and a great friend but he also knows how to pick one. Today, with Harristown we have had a huge winner (forbid isnt quite the right word stickler! Just measured entusiam!!). As he said we fancied him but probably for a place (we liked the form lines through Handiwork, Abracadabra Silvoa and also Charlie knew Harry wasnt far behind Cadouoff) behind the invincible Venetia!! Stick put me onto Charlie and i couldnt resist buying a share in Harry! Stick was a great soundboard and always kept the faith. Charlie is destined for the top and a short visit to his stables and you will know why. Roche (Head Lad) is the man along with DJ the assistant trainer. The whole yard is unreal in atmosphere and the lady who does all the admin work a diamond. It was Kielans first listed winner (and a nice pot to boot). He deserves all the credit. Followed instructions spot on. Charlie D is also the best 7lb claimer around (along with Jon Dawson who rides for Wadey) Horse in 2nd today cost over £200k I believe although he gave us some weight in my wildest dreams I didnt think we would be able to beat him. Waiting for the call from JP now, we all know he likes a lively improver for the handicaps!! Harry has got more in the tank (he was hardly blowing in the winners) so lets have some awful weather and a Fred Winter forum winner!!! Stick, Danbo and Cats will be there to celebrate!! Dan S let me know!! All welcome of course.
Very, very pleased for you. When we met in November you were pretty confident about him and I'm delighted that it's looking very promising that you'll get your wish of a Festival runner - brilliant!
Congrats the Don - really pleased for you, fingers crossed everything falls into place for him to run at the festival
Massive congratulations from me too. Must be such a thrill to have a good un running for you. Good luck and hope to see you and Harristown at the festival.
If you sell him, as big as you are, I shall beat you to a pulp! ;-) NASS, you may just actually get me to the Festival this year (for one day only mind)
Brilliant The Don (and Stick) very happy for you all. Hope Harry does you proud at the Festival. Fingers crossed for a great run! (Nass: On the important subject of pies, in days gone by my favourite racecourse pies were those sold at Newmarket. Bloody great they were).
