Shaun Wright-Phillips hopes to join brother on Red Bulls http://nypost.com/2014/02/06/phillips-hopes-to-join-brother-on-red-bulls/
If they can afford to take on his crazy wages - he's finally out of contract this summer. Not sure with Matty Phillips now possibly out for the rest of the season if Harry will want to keep him to cover that position. Hoilett is also a bit fragile and injury prone, so if we were lose him too, we'd be running out of "wide men". Perhaps we should run him absolutely ragged and try and get our money's worth out of him - he does track back quite well defensively, but like a pinball going forward.
Hoilett seems very injury prone to me, and SWP is almost as good as him, better at tracking back. With Phillips out for the season probably, Hoilett's fragility, and as we have already more loan players than we can use in a game, we may need to keep SWP the rest of the season. Isn't the also injured Dellatore a wide man?
I've posted his highlights reel just in case anyone form the Red bulls is reading this thread. This should secure the deal.
Actually he hasn't changed all that much has he - he is still about the same size but has lost some of his pace and shooting power...
Always liked him and I agree he still has a job here to do to cover for Matt Phillips ... who IMO hasn't sparked also under Harold
I seem to recall Ian Wright going nuts in the South Africa Road stand when SWP scored for Manchester City many years ago. This prompted some verbals and a QPR fan got banned for uttering something [similar to what John Terry said] to the former Arsenal frontman.
Can't blame Redknapp for everything. It's not like he have one of these please log in to view this image
you don't pay players over 50k a week to be cover. especially in this league. he's stolen a living in football, he's just a pub player with pace who's only a pro because of his name.
Hmm. No and no. You simply can't compare the two. One has had three seasons to show what he can do under 3 different managers and scored one goal in the league in all that time. Ended up being dropped to role of bit part player by all 3. The other carried an injury to start with but has played increasingly well, knows how to cross and can shoot reasonably accurately. And is our 2nd highest scorer. The SW variety of Phillips fails as a substitute on the crossing and shooting department. He could cover for a full back if we were absolutely desperate but that is not what he was bought for. I thought we had established by now that what we need is attacking threat and a cutting edge. He can't provide either.
SWP said "I’d definitely love to go to the MLS at some point" We the fans says, " we'd love you to go to the MLS too" .................. but with a number of injuries within the team , we need you to play some decent football for the club that has has been paying you a mammoth wage for the last couple of years. Help us out Shaun and leave on a good note. please log in to view this image
