Can anyone recommend a good hotel with plenty of parking spaces in Brighton-thinking of taking a 2 night stay and need parking due to disability_ Hopefully the seagulls fan will come back on and respond
At least we'll know who would be our opponents in the QFs, which gives Brucey a chance to change the team accordingly. (ie. if it's Man City/Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool, play the same cup side as normal, but if it's Sheff Wed/Charlton/Forest etc. play a slightly stronger side)
Agreed bob or one of these two Brightonwave - hotel featuring regular exhibitions of original pieces of art by local artists. Centrally located, moments from the beach, with a focus on a friendly, personal service. Amsterdam - Hotel, bar, restaurant and sauna all rolled into one! You’ll find the Amsterdam bang on the seafront in Kemp Town at the hub of the city’s friendly quarter.
What a load of ****ing ****, If I'm not rushing around London in rush hour in the pissing rain to get to palace I'm driving down the m1 at 7 in the morning because we've moved ko to silly o clock, and now they put another good game at an impossible time! Supporting my team just gets more and more difficult by the day!
i hope ****ing tiger travel is cheap... ridiculous time for a ****ing fa cup game so far away over 400 mile round trip
Sadly very few. But then again that's life. The FA wonder why most games have so many empty seats nowadays. The FA should tell the TV companies that any games required to be played on friday or monday nights should be limited to only those ties where teams are closer together. Southampton fans are having to leave @ 4am to get upto Mackem land for a 12.45pm ko ffs. But the Brighton match price of £15 for a ticket and £20 on tiger travel is not bad at all and i can save much wonga doing it this way. With Fulham now out we have a gpood chance of getting one of the winners from the Sheffield ties. Wembley anyone ?
Why do Southampton fans need 8 hours to get to Sunderland? Took me just over 3 hours to get from London to Newcastle by train today, can't they catch the train to London then train to Sunderland?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26055733 I see Brighton are in trouble with a £14.7m operating loss for the last 12 months I know we're in money troubles but I don't know how football clubs manage to always overspend It must be quite easy to predict turnover. There will be a number of fixed benefits and those that are variable are easily guessed through historical information Lets use Brighton as an example. Their turnover is £23m. If they wanted a playing squad of 20 professionals plus management and non-playing back room staff numbering (I guess) 15. 20 Pros at an average of £7k per week is £7m 1 Manager £400k 14 Coaches / physios at £3k per week is £2m There we have £10m wages on the footballing side leaving £13m to work on other costs (stewards / maintenance / utilities / police / rates etc) and any transfer requirements Is it really that hard? Many on here will run our own businesses - why are most chairmen incapable of working within their means in football?
Considering they got Half a Million the club could subsidise the tickets to 5 quid and pensioners and under 16 (both of which would probably need a Driver to get them there) free.
They could do that, but as the FA Cup draws are made so close to the dates of the games they'd need a spare £130 (return) to pay for the tickets to leave at 5.40am*. They'd also have to fanny around changing the train in London twice (Southampton goes into Waterloo, the train up north out of Kings Cross) and then again at Newcastle, each time hoping they didn't miss a connection. They'd probably rather get up a couple of hours earlier and get the coach and be limited to 60mph on the motorway though. *They could get the train half an hour later, it's the same price but has 5(!!) changes. Anything after that and they arrive too late for the game.
Think there are trains straight to Sunderland, at least there were at Kings X yesterday, but fair point.
Train costs maybe ? SydneyTiger. I read it on one of there message boards after the draw. It must be the official coaches that are leaving @ 4am. Better to catch a train after work up north on friday and stay in a hotel or better still drive if you can do. The draw for the 6th round / Qtr Finals will be after the ITV1 live game between Everton and Swansea ko 1.30pm on sunday 16th. 3 ties will still be left to play btw.
I am sorry for the majority of supporters who now won't be able to go because of the **** time it's been rescheduled for. For me it's actually good that it's on TV as work is taking me overseas that weekend. Having the draw before all the matches have been played is yet another devaluation of the tournament by an FA increasingly divorced from the supporters. As has been pointed out we will now play in the knowledge of who we would see in the 6th round should we win. It will affect team selection and therefore change the odds of winning.
How long before Saturday 3pm kick offs are televised on sky sports channels 1-24. And games are played in indoor arenas with corporate seating only costing around £10k a seat in the EPL.
