What a weird season this is, all the bottom half in a knockabout relegation battle and I for one had almost forgotten about how close we might be to appearing at Wembley in the FA Cup. Looking at the remaining teams we have a great chance if we can beat Southampton ........ yes, they're good but not as good as they were, earlier in the season, and we're at home. Quite a few Premier League clubs are out and more to come in the 5th round ........... Man City play Chelsea, Arsenal play Liverpool & Hull are away to Brighton which would be a great tie for us, whoever wins. It's guaranteed that some of Sheff Wed, Charlton, Sheff Utd & Forest are through ........... all with big away sections and, with the exception of Charlton, 'local' matches for us. 'The game that never was' is the League Cup Final ............ since the 'dream match' for the media failed to materialise they've completely lost interest in the competition. If we actually manage to win it'll struggle to reach the back pages.
If we win, I'm sure it would be portrayed as a massive shock, and would in my opinion generate a lot of publicity..
Who gives a ****, it's about the likes of yourself, and everyone who has stuck through thick and thin....Mainly thin... You lot deserve this, **** the media, **** them all.. Two finals would be a dream, already spoilt the sky boys final once.
The reason there is not much publicity about it now is It's a whole month away There's league games Fa cup games Champions league games to be played before it In the week before it, it will be big trust It's a shame it will mean nothing to man city but if you guys win it will be remembered about in 30 years time, I'd love judt ****ing love for us to reach a cup final, can't imagine it
You stole my thunder mate. If we did win a trophy I wouldnt give a **** if it was the worst ever final in the history of football and we won by an own goal in the dying embers of a totally burned out match. Having waited 41 seasons for a trophy it wouldn't bother me if everyone else in the world forgot about it the same night, cos I wouldn't forget it for the rest of my life.
I totally agree mate, it's not that I'm bothered ....... it's just nice to have pissed on the media's chips, guess I didn't make that clear.
I agree that as soon as the fabled battle of Manchester became Man City versus that ****ing awful club from up north that just wont **** off and get relegated, they lost interest in it as a game. Its already been entered into the history books as a Man City cup win before a ball has been kicked and I couldn't agree more about us winning it now would piss them off even more. Oh I'd love that
Don't care what it says in the papers as long as the trophy has the words Sunderland 2014 written on it.
If we win it, we've beaten Southampton, Chelsea, United & City to do it. If we don't get credit, then who gives a ****, everytime a lesser side has won a cup they have had a favourable draw. For this reason, I think we may lose to City, and win the FA Cup
