Sadly it does make sense. So they are NOT saying that alcohol had anything to do with the deaths or was a major cause of the disaster. However they are introducing the possibility that the effects of alcohol on the mass of supporters may have had an influence on how and why decisions were made.

A bit like Bill Roache - now I don't know if he is innocent but I do know the judge told the jury at the start of the trial that they had to ignore his on screen character and personna. So what does the defence do but spend 2 days walking through 'character' witnesses all from Corrie and showbiz!!!

 

Surely ignoring his on screen character and having character witnesses who work with him are two totally different things?

Notts is a abbreviation of Nottinghamshire. Nottingham is shortened to Nottm.

Forest are called Nottingham Forest whereas County are Nottinghamshire County, hence Nottm forest and Notts county respectively. Its a bit like referring to Aston Villa as Birmingham!

The people he works with day in and day out are likely to be the best character witnesses as they are the ones who see him in his normal daily life on a regular basis. Anyone else would be giving a character witness from a position where they only know what he has decided to show of himself. My doctor thinks im lovely, the people i work with probably think im a right **** because they see when the presure is on.

I've written character references for a number of employees over the last few years, so i can say from experience you don't need to be a doctor or lawyer

 

Care to elaborate?

I don't see it as Naive to be able to distinguish between a character on TV and what his colleagues think of him.

The government has covered their costs from minute one yet the families got no government assistance and relied on donations from supporters and well wishers.
Considering how long the inquests might take the grant is going to be millions including hotels, meals, travel costs by the police, the whole thing so far has been one long jolly for the ****s.

The reasons for the new inquests taking place is down to the ineptitude and dishonesty of the police and they shouldn't get **** all except the bill for the whole thing.
