Just back from my shopping trip to find this on the go. Maybe, Mr.B thought as the owner he could do what he wished and told Cardiff to go walkies, but then someone pointed out that he is not a director of the club and has not been appointed CEO. A very sudden change to I must consult with the board.
seriously think its about time we had some good news! a comforte,r a straw to clutch at ,anything positive!
feeling like that too...anything to make us feel there's something happening that's good for Watford...though the lack of other players sales so far is a positive
Thanks to RookeryMike on Twitter for this one; http://www.thecourier.co.uk/Sport/F...undee-s-craig-forsyth-set-for-watford-fc.html
http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2377370,00.html Cardiff given permission to speak now.
Was there compensation paid when Steve Perryman jumped ship or Brendan Rodgers did likewise, or even sensure from the FA? Not as far as I remember. Will there be sensure of Cardiff for some very dubious behaviour? How could they say he wants to join if there had been no contact? Will the WFA punish them, as they fall outside the remit of the FA? I doubt it. Were Watford sensured over bringing Glen Roeder to the club from Gillingham? You bet they were.
Should Malky be sacked now for showing disloyalty in asking to talk with Cardiff, or should he be held to his contract to maximise any financial remuneration from his departure? How can he now be trusted in future if he stays? I still think he is a good chap though.
Reading paid us £500k compensation for BR so in the end it was an "agreement" (just one we did not want) If we sacked Malky we would have to pay HIM compensation so no I don't think we would be doing that. To date we don't know if he or his agent have had any communication - it just smells a bit like it
I can't see a 'trust' problem if he decides to stay. We're all allowed to dream of improving ourselves and he's perfectly entitled to sniff around other opportunities - how would he ever know if this was the right move if he didn't ask? If he decides that Cardiff are not the club for him, then he will only have confirmed our suspicions that we are a better prospect! I think you're right about him being a 'good chap' but can't help but wonder how many would retain that viewpoint if he were to lead us to relegation next season - fickle beasts are football fans.
I don't think it's a question of trust. If he stays, we'll be thrilled (most of us)...and hopefully he'll just get on with it and all this can be put behind us...until the end of next season!
