Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he has no regrets about their failed attempt to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez over the summer and confirmed he will not make a fresh bid to land him in the future. The Londoners made a bid of £40m and one pound for the Uruguayan last August but that was rejected by Liverpool and he could line up against Wenger's side when the teams meet at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday. "You sometimes have regrets when players who played for you score goals or do well somewhere else," said Wenger. Luis Suarez has set his sights on getting the better of Premier League leaders Arsenal this weekend to boost Liverpool's top-four hopes. Liverpool play host to Arsenal at Anfield at lunchtime on Saturday hoping to gain revenge for their 2-0 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates earlier this season. Suarez, who was a transfer target for Arsenal last summer, believes victory over the league leaders would provide a major confidence boost for Liverpool for the final few months of the campaign. "Arsenal are the leaders in the table and victory would be good for morale, give the whole squad an enormous injection and reduce the points difference at the top," Suarez is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror. "We didn't have success at the Emirates, so our objective now is to win and I believe we have that chance." At least Wenger is doing what I expect Liverpool to do - concentrate upon ourselves. There's nothing we can do to influence their selection or performance. So let's spend out time and effort on ensuring that our side have their best possible chance of out-performing them.
