GJ and LJ were in the williams stands obviously watching his opponents for Saturday. They must have wondered if they were at the right ground, and if the fans were there. What a difference to those giddy days when they were both here. I have to say in my time, it was the best since dicks.
Too many on here held it against GJ that he constantly picked LJ and could never get passed it, despite him and Marv being the best central mid partnership for a good while, and certainly nothing has come close since (of which Marv has almost always been part of....) I don't blame the pair if they had a good laugh at our expense the other night? I hope LJ does well he always held himself well and always gave his all unlike some. As for GJ he is a L1 manager in all reality as he is very good at this level but has struggled when going a level higher, no shame in that as many players are the same.
Lee Johnson was a model professional at the club. The thought of our fans booing him when he got the ball still makes me sick. In my mind, he was consistently good for us, and the second he left our midfield lost its structure. He wasn't the most skillful player, but he would stick back and clean up after other players. I think his departure is why our structure still seems to fall apart. Our players lack consistency, and few of them are capable of sitting back and cleaning up when possession is lost. It's karma that we're below Oldham in the table. If anyone deserves to laugh at our misfortune it's him.
Watch junior stuff us next weekend at Oldham and probably will enjoy the experience. Our crowd were very rough on him and in my opinion wrongly so.
I never understood the anti Lee brigade either. But we will lose at Oldham on Saturday and at Orient in the week, and the table wont lie come May when we slide without a whimper into the void. And they say lightning doesn't strike twice ? The Lansdowns should be treated with all of the contempt that their flawed and unprofessional regime richly deserves. Saviour ? Ha !
I was in the pro-LJ half of the argument. I don't think Lee would laugh at where we are because he has an affection for the club - another good man
If he was half as good as above. Why was he only played by 1 man. Why could he never get a game at Brighton. Why did Hearts only play him for 77 league minutes. Why Chesterfield relegated to L2 drop and never signed him. Why that Kilmarnock pub side dropped and bombed him out. And ask yourself why he retired at 31. We'd have made the Prem automatic if that runt had never played football.
He did well at Derby - their fans liked him and they wanted to keep him but GJ recalled him. You forgot to mention that RP (or don't loans count?). I think Gary probably enjoys our mess, but Lee won't (well, he won't show it anyway) - he is a model professional.
Okay, I'll bite, Because he was signed by that man? Was Pitman a **** player because McInnes couldn't wait to get rid of him? Because he was a teenager? Why couldn't Mata get a game for Real Madrid? is he **** too? Because the man that signed him was sacked? Couldn't say for sure, but it was probably because he was still a Bristol City player at that point and they couldn't afford to sign him. He'd also moved to Scotland pretty quickly, so I reckon he'd already sorted a move out before leaving Bristol City. Didn't he win the Scottish League Cup? Last time I checked, he did alright for them? Probably a mixture of injuries, and not wanting to drop down divisions.
Think he pissed in Redprint's corn flakes once And well put EnderMB unfortunately I think RP is going to be tamping at the keyboard to get at you now
Both Gary and his son enjoyed good times at Bristol City Why do people only remember the **** times ? I just wish Gary was here now At least we could have a laugh with him, and get results more often than not. It was a dark day indeed when BBC606 hounded him into submission, but Yeovil Town must be keeping the date as a regional holiday.
Or perhaps its because he knew he was going to be a brilliant young manager, and just wanted to get started. Remains to be seen of course wether he will become briliant, but at least it doesnt matter that he is only 4ft nothing because all you need is a loud voice.....come to think of it he doesnt really have one of those either ! On reflection - well done LJ old son, for getting out of bed in the morning
