Huddlestone's good enough for England but the team he plays in doesn't keep the ball well enough. His kind of player needs to be constantly on the ball to get noticed, not chasing after a load of Figueroa clearances.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't take Johnson either, just cos there's loads of better wingers.

Perhaps he's running his eye over Davies as well?

I can understand Hudds getting all the plaudits, I know he is our "star" player but for me, when the hell is Davies going to start getting the praise he deserves? the guy is easily our most consistent player, the player that leads the team, the player that comes over to the fans to applaud our support even after a poor performance (Norwich to name one) the guy oozes class. Thats who Roy should be coming to look at.

Agreed. With JT a NO NO and Jagielka a sick note at the moment we are desperate for quality defenders.

Curtis Davies has already proved himself and maybe Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney have already had a word with Woy Hodges. ? ;) <whistle>

Huddlestone is nowhere near good enough for the England team. Davies shouldn't be but a distinct lack of centre halves at the moment could see him in with a shout if he picks up his early season form again. Cahill and Jagielka are certainly ahead of him, Terry should be, Lescott will be, along with Michael Dawson.

    Are you dyslexic?

I said Lescott and Dawson will be, as in Hodgson will opt for them ahead of Davies.

For what it's worth Michael Dawson is a handy centre half anyway, just a bit slow.

    Nope. But are you ?

As for Davies he has been playing as well if not better than both Lescott and Dawson.

It used to be a case of England taking the best 23 players regardless of which clubs they play for.

Hopefully the pressure of being watched by the England manager will have a negative effect on Adam Johnson + he plays his worst game of the season

I'm pretty sure that game was to watch the Southampton players. He probably didn't give a **** about us.
