What would be the first thing you do and what would be your team for Saturday? Personally, I'll tell all players they're working late this week. I'd have conversations with each player individually, in units (i.e. all defence) and as a whole team with the aim to clear the air and get some understanding of what's been going wrong and what everyone is thinking. Then I'd get them running round the pitch till they puke. My team for saturday would be with the assumption that Michu and Vorm are only 50% fit: Tremmel Rangel -- (Bartley & Williams / Amat & Chico) -- Taylor Dyer -- Britton -- De Guzman -- Routledge Pozuelo Bony I think there's some bad blood / communication issues in the centre back partnership so would sooner see a fluent English speaking pair over Spanish but think either pair could do the business. Michu on the bench to come on for Poz for 20 mins
Slightly off topic PUBLISHED 13:15 5th February 2014 . . . new Head Coach immensely proud of his role at Swans I will give everything I have for Swansea City. I will promise the fans that." Garry Monk Garry Monk has vowed to "give everything" for the badge in a bid to guide Swansea City to safety in the Barclays Premier League. Monk, who has captained the club in all four divisions over the last decade, took over at the helm following the dismissal of manager Michael Laudrup last night. The 34-year-old spoke at length with the squad before taking his first training session this morning at the new training complex at Fairwood – the first time they have used the impressive development. He was due to put the players through their paces again in a second session this afternoon in readiness for Saturday’s South Wales derby with Cardiff City at the Liberty Stadium. “I will give everything I have for Swansea City. I will promise the fans that,’’ declared Monk. “And I will ensure the players do exactly the same. “We are all in this together – and I will make sure we stick together. That is what Swansea City has been all about for as long as I can remember. “I know this club inside out and I will try and use that knowledge to the betterment of Swansea City. I also know how important this football club is to the fans. They are the important ones in all this and we will all fight every inch of the way for them. "This is a proud moment for me, and I aim to do the best possible for this club and the loyal supporters.’’ Monk will be ably assisted by Swans legend Alan Curtis who has been with the club in a playing and staff capacity for over 30 years. Meanwhile, the club can confirm that assistant manager Morten Wieghorst, fitness coach Oscar Garcia and overseas scout Erik Larsen have all been relieved of their duties. The club would like to thank them for their services.Monk's 1st official statement . I wonder whether he'll wear a suit with trainers or tracky bottoms & trainers , he'll need them to appease those who feel he should run around the technical area waving his arms . For me Tremmel Rangel -- Williams / Amat ) -- Taylor Dyer -- Britton -- De Guzman -- Routledge Pablo Bony Michu, Davies, Ngog, Poz, Lamah.
That's exactly the sort of sunday pub club approach we need to stay in the Prem. Good football science there. Let's run the players to exhaustion in a week when they are going into a highly emotional physical match and need every ounce of stamina and energy reserves available for the match. Let's not work on tactics and systems. Let's not work on analyzing and exploiting their weaknesses. Let's not figure out what OGS is likely to put on the field. Let's just get everybody to puke ... everyday! Now I understand why Bartley was recalled. Not because he deserved it or needed him, but as an alternative to Chico / Amat in case they decided not to be professional - such trust. Williams / Bartley to start on Saturday - bet yah.
Tremmal , rangel , Chico , Williams , Taylor Dyer , Britton , Poz, DeGuzman , Routledge Bony The game before West Ham , Chico was our best player
YJ, don't take everything so literally. You've been subjected to too many of Dai's posts. I was simply alluding to the accusation that ML didn't do enough fitness work. I'm hoping Monk and Curt will have everyone up to speed come Saturday. They need to come out of the blocks all guns blazing.
There is/was a double training session scheduled for today. What's on for tomorrow? We lost Shelvey on Sat; looked like a hamstring and no word on when he might be available. If we double up practice work at this point in the season we could lose others from wear-n-tear. If Monk wants to instill a new system, it's going to be too late. If he's working on fundamentals .... depends how it's done but that could be useful, but again depends on the intensity of the work etc.
Four days before a game is not the time to install as new fitness regime (if thats whats needed) too soon and too much of a risk for further injuries .The team selection needs to be the focus atm and the substitutions considered and used wisely .imo
Tremmell /Vorm (if fit) Rangel Barkley Ash Taylor Dyer Leon Amat Routledge Poz/ Michu - Depends how fit he is Bony
Monk is proud and im proud of monk....who better to unite everyone and with any influence that was left behind after laudrups sacking also gone, The club is looking much better already and the liberty is buzzing again with excitement...our nightmare is over..

You listening to me Chico ? Chico. Yeah. Monk. You run central defence with that slag Ash but you run it for me right ! I give the orders right ! Chico. ouch yeah. Monk. You'll get yer perks but I'm the DADDY Right ! Chico. Ok man ok. Monk. And if I catch you rolling around like you been shot il fkin bury you ok! Now fk off .
According to photos posted by that rag the Post of today's training session - at the Liberty (do we still train there) - with HJ looking on pensively - Canas was taking part. I'm pretty sure it was him. Any word on his availability.
Yes he was but not suer how far he is down the line in laying , Fairwood and the stadium were used today ,more private and less chance of "in the know brigade " having their 2 minutes of fame I suppose
I'd reinstall myself as captain and become player/manager (solves the Chico-problem), be happy that my 18-months of backstabbing finally worked out, play Donnelly as the top striker (Embed in 10-position) and blame the former management for the relegation to come...
---------------Tremmell---------------- Rangel----Chico----Williams----Taylor Dyer----Cannas-----Britton----Routledge -----------------Michu--------------------- -----------------Bony---------------------- That's my team, and the Sub bench would include Ben Davies, Emnes, Hernandez, De Guzman, Ngog etc!.....................
