i said 20 good players and 5 top players... as in if you read (city don't have 20 top 4 players comment) IF we had 20 good players, not moses, not allen ,not borini but genuinely good players like johnson skertl, enrique and 5 really top players like sturrdige and suarez we'd go places

I said we'd probably 10 good players with a couple i think are debateable (lucas and sterling) but as many average players and then we've 2 top players

To progress we need to add quality not journeymen like aspas. in the end this boils down to... rodgers and the committee added average players.

but to be nice, i don't think too many managers would have got more out.. i don't know.. would rafa in your opinion for example have got a meaner defence but the same goals? I dunno.

    fixed it for you.

There's more than 1 way to crack an egg. Personally I'll go for the mix that I described. There's no such thing as a top 4 or top 2 player. It depends upon if and how their individual skills are used. Shevchenko would have qualified for a top 2 player when he arrived at Chelsea - but proved a worse buy than Vorinin!!

I recall Hendo's predecessor, Spearing, who I actually rated, not getting the same patience despite total bloodhound commitment on his part. As you said, it's a starting point, but remains that.

If Lucas, Allen & Hendo can form an effective 'cog' in the middle, I'm all for that plan despite the resulting sacrifice of Sterling, Coutinho or Sturridge. We're lucky to have Suarez upfront to afford that extra man in the middle.

But before we go to that plan, I'd like Brendan to push Henderson to take on more responsabilities and try to shoulder it all alone (as all top teams' CMs routinely do) in the first halves of easier fixtures. He is still young and determined persistent demands for more by his manager can just maybe 'unlock' him. Then Brendan can switch it up if it isn't working at half time.

Opting for the Lucas/Allen/Hendo plan immediately is giving up on the pretense that either/both Hendo and Lucas can carry the full load of their role.
