If we're serious about winning the title, now is the time to move!

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Feb 5, 2014.

  1. I'm getting a little nervous that Tim and the boys are leaving it a little late. If we are to push for the title, now is the time.

Arsenal and £ity appear to be wavering slightly, at the moment, and whilst Chavs have been strong over recent weeks, I'm still not convinced that they have the bottle to finish the job.

    I won't even mention 'Pool's chances.

We all know that our slow assault on the title has been down to several factors. Well, two, really: (1) us buying a "striker" who can't actually score goals, and (2) Tim's apparent complete and utter lack of any football knowledge. But now, it's time to cast aside the excuses and push on. It's time to start reeling-in our rivals, particularly Arsenal and Chavs.

I know we got beat by £ity 11-1 over this season's two games, but we have to look past that and ... well, push on. Yes, losing to the Spanners was probably something that we ought to have avoided, but that's now in the past. Time to push on (as I might have mentioned before).

We've got some easy fixtures coming up - having had good results, recently, against decent sides, such as Hull. We've got to be looking at taking maximum points from our Feb and March games, and then see where we are on April Fool's Day. I thinking that we might well be surprised.

    What do you guys think?

    (No wumming, please).

League's ours, we've just deliberately allowed teams to spank us once or twice so we can make it look like it was a real challenge to get to the top.

Wumming and joking aside, we could have a very good push over the next few months for a good position. March will of course be pretty much a "defining" month with some big games but we do have a lot of "winnable" fixtures to come our way. That said, you just never know which Tottenham are going to turn up, especially at WHL. We went from drawing against WBA in a boring match to smashing the living day lights out of Stoke just a couple of days later. I won't mention some of the dreadful defeats but WHL is just no longer a fortress for Spurs, we're getting heavily reliant on away form which isn't really what a "top team" should be needing to do. Home games should be a near enough nailed on bankers for 3 points and then away from home, we should be picking up a steady flow and giving other top 4 challengers a run for their money on their turf. We've yet to beat a current top 5 side and if we're serious about achieving a Champions League spot, that stat is going to have to change drastically, starting with Pool and Chelsea - which isn't going to be easy!

I would like nothing more than to win the league with a negative goal difference.
We could be in for a couple more spankings and some very tight wins before the end of the season

Yes, I see Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal imploding on themselves, whilst the Spurs go marching on. The title is there for the taking!

  5. So long as it doesn't affect our title chances, I wouldn't mind another spanking or two.

    Absolutely. I'm going to Munich.

Barcelona or Madrid are tempting, but I've lived in Munich before, and Bayern is a shoe in, while Barca, Real and Atletico are not sure things.

I would imagine you need a proper manager and another £100 mil then in two years you'd have a shout.

I really don't understand what HAIG is on, but I have decided to smoke some anyway. I wonder what the penalty will be if our competitors forfeit their matches against us instead of playing? That would surely be better than getting the drubbing that is certain to happen. The other bonus is that their players are rested in order to play games against teams they have some sort of chance against. They are also spared injuries because they don't have to face up to players such as Lamela and Eriksen who as you all know have a rather "Charlie Adam" attitude to taking out opponents.
