============= DONE. Like I say thick me. I thought CTWD wanted no name change / a place on the board / fan ownership of the club. I was wrong as has been pointed out. I'm still not that bothered about the name change though.... Just how it is that's all .....right or wrong ..
So, if the name change doesn't bother you, what would bother you enough for you to passionately disagree? Colours? Location?
OLM, come on. In debates about supporters trusts you clearly say that the CTWD is not a single agenda group. To Supporters Direct the CTWD states it is not a single agenda group as Supporters Direct cannot be involved with single issue or campaign groups. It's alright putting in "at the moment" but really. Tiger Filey may have gone to far with his post in HDM, but you a really spinning this. If it was just about the name change "at the moment" why would you have discussed a meeting with HCC Meeting with Councillor S.Brady and A.Johnson MP Discussed meeting CTWD have been invited to. I.Waterson concerned that original purpose of the meeting (Influencing the council, being introduced to the All-party group on football and discussing the stadium freehold) is now irrelevant. All felt itâs still very worthwhile meeting and establishing a relationship. The KC freehold is very much "of the moment" will you be saying sorry?
I'm sure there are people that are members of both CTWD and the OSC, but obviously I've no idea how many.
I'd just heard the distinct twang of a fellow Aussie accent and jumped over to chat to a couple from Melbourne, otherwise I would have! You gonna be at the Sun'land game?
As a member of CTWD, an excellent campaign very professionally run. I am really impressed with the video, it encapsulates exactly the way I feel. Most business's, certainly in these uncertain economic times would be using the history and tradition as a real unique selling point, I really don't understand the pro name change brigade, very submissive, a trait I don't particularly like. Bielbs, I am sure your Dad will be looking down incredibly proud with what you have pulled together.
I am a member of both, but will most likely resign from the OSC if they don't reveal details of their submission to the FA.The openness and transparency with which the CTWD campaign has been run is in stark contrast to the OSC, which seems reactive rather than proactive.
Almost every group that Supporters Direct are involved in started off as some sort of campaign group, it's how these things normally get started. CTWD are working with the Tigers Co-op to modernise the existing supporters trust and once set up, it will come up with a proposal to put to AA and to fans, but we're a long way off that yet. The meeting with the council was originally set up to try and influence the council into voting against the name change(as mentioned in the minutes you've posted), but unfortunately the meeting came too late to have any effect as they'd already made their submission. The discussions about the freehold and the council's position on AA were so we knew exactly where we stood with regard to the putting an alternative business case in our FA submission. The view at the meeting which you've posted the minutes from, was that despite the primary purpose of that meeting having become irrelevant, it was still worthwhile for the campaign group to meet with the council and see what they had to say. I'm spinning nothing and I owe no-one an apology.
Yeah I've been wondering about that too. Open and honest? Not so much. Filey wasn't that far off the mark with his comments, but as normal, you see the attack on anyone questioning them. Don't hold your breath for a sincere apology either. Their tag line seems to be "at the moment" and they're working on the basis in the future they can claim they were "doing things for the benefit of all fans" when they eventually come out. You see less spin coming out of Parliament.
The giant flag went to Wembley for the presentation and I'm not sure if we brought it back again, but I'll be kicking around on the concourse at half time while postcards and badges are being given out.
Yerman, you have to ask why did you join the OSC, was it in order to enjoy a pint or two with fellow supporters and sometimes meet players, or was it to influence the club? The name change issue has changed the way members and non members see the OSC. When all of this settles down, will it ever be the same? I doubt it. Enjoy what remains of the season in the way that you have in the past, this may be the last season that anyone does after all.
