In Suffolk a "field day" is one you spend leaning on a five bar gate chewing grass. It's a lot more exciting than it sounds.Last time I had one I saw a '55 Fordson go past with a double row vertical axis harrow attachment.

Do they do Tractor Pulling round your way? It's basically drag racing for souped up traaaactors, only these beauties have to drag a flat bed full of pig iron across a muddy field. I came across this while holidaying in a place called Garstang, a few miles inland from Blackpool. Anything that unites country folk with big ****-off 12 litre engines has to be good imo, as it keeps them away from guns.

There is a yokel on U Tube with one of they.Doing wheelies in a ploughed field and hurtling down country lanes.Generally not too much trouble with guns.Mainly posh home counties types playing at being squires.Whenever one asks me directions I always tell him "I wouldn't start from here".
