he was very heavily linked before. this sacking is a panic move. hope they go for redknapp, I'd quite happily swap managers. Bournemouth to Swansea? I think harry will like that.
I drove to the playoff final in Cardiff from Bournemouth along B roads via Bath. Was so knackered by the time I got there I virtually fell out the car when I arrived.
I was going to say that would be a nightmare journey compared to London/Bournemouth. Seems the 11 team relegation battle is leading to an outbreak of 'squeaky bums'...
1 Million % Queens - The man is class and actually would help our Tone to have someone with a network outside of the M25.
Would be wonderful, but highly unlikely. Lets see which prem teams get twitchy and dump their manager now, not just the relegation candidates I reckon......bet Levy is kicking himself for giving Sherwood that 18 month contract now, but wouldn't put it past him. Laudrup will only go somewhere they have cash to spend, so thankfully that rules out Norwich.....
Fickle ways indeed but the Swans manager has ruined the team IMO. I admire Swansea City teh most in recent years for playing football the way i love to see it played. I think Rogers will get Liverpool back to the same ideology and I can see them doing very well this year ... always said Arsenal this year but Liverpool are on their way back
On the other hand, thers something not quite right about laudrup. I dont think hes an easy person to deal with.
I found Swansea under Rogers unwatchable due to the countless sideways and backwards passes. He has done well with Liverpool though.
If you look at the performance of Martinez's and Rodger's team after they left Swansea, all benefited hugely. Has Laudrup's Swansea moved on ??? Mind you that is a tough act to follow, both Martinez and Rogers are outstanding managers.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Michael. Have had the good fortune of meeting him on many Confirmations/Communions/Family gatherings over the past 17 years as we have mutual close friends. Infact the whole family is a credit to themselves. Let me give you a little insight to Michael. His father was a fantastic player and his brother Brian you know all about, they are regarded in Denmark as Royalty but never abuse their position. Michael does not forget his roots and although a Millionaire many times over never shirks from having his outside interests registered in DK where he is obviously subject to far higher taxes. When he speaks it seems as though it is a little slow whether it be in English, Spanish or Danish, it is not because he is slow but because he considers everything he says and wants it to be correct. His footballing ability and brain cannot be questioned and expects all around him to try their 110% best. I never thought that he'd do so well with the archetypal UK player which to be frank normally abuses their gift rather than work further towards it. It is true that he can seem aloof but I can assure you it takes intelligence to get on his wave length - once you are you're in for a treat. So, and I could write for hours on this man, in short - He is loyal, demanding, extremely talented and intelligent and suffers fools poorly but will give everything to those that show a real desire to improve and try their best. He speaks 4 languages fluently and the only player to have played for Barca and Madrid that todayis still loved on both sides. Yes, even the majority of Barca fans have forgiven. And, he still has the time to not only inform me of 3 fantastic restaurants in Madrid but rings them up personally to make sure I got the tables!!! One last thing - I never told the staff of the restaurants who sent us until the end that it was Michael that sent us and the affection they still have for this man was telling. Bythe way he also has a fantastic wine company - what's not to like Flyer???
hes had to deal with being in europe with a squad nowhere near big or strong enough. I think thats the major difference.
Swansea won their first major tournament. Swansea have players like Michu, Bony, Flores et al which would bring in a pretty penny. Swansea came 12th even after the holiday" after winning the Cup. Swansea beat Valencia in the Mestalla. Swansea beat United at Old Trafford. Swansea battered Arsenal at the Emirates. Swansea are in the KO stage of EL. Swansea are still 12th. Do you still need to ask the question "did he move Swansea on?" I'm here all day willing to answer all
And think about it - he managed to do all that with a side that EVERYONE thought - well that's as far as they can go.
Previous to swansea, he left his previous 3 jobs after about a year. Add in this strange sacking then you have to believe theres something more to it. He may be a nice bloke to know but he doesnt stay in jobs long. Just read that the final straw was him going on a break to paris and giving the players 2 days off after losing to WHU.
Swansea have only won eight of 35 Premier League games, and lost 18. That is relegation form, 2 points out of the relegation battle
He was at Brondby for 5 years - They have never won the league since!! He was at Getafe for 1 year taking over from the "miraculous chuster season" - Not only did he improve the position in the league but did it with an improved playing style, You tube the EL Qtr Final with Bayern where they had to play 118 mins with 10 men and see how they played - Left because instead of wanting to take the team further, the owners wanted to cash in. Could not stay under those pretences. Moscow - A failure, couldn't understand why he took the job in the first place - Lasted 4 months, anyone can fail in Russia. Mallorca - Again took a nuthouse of a team to the EL only to be stripped of the opportunity by nuthouse offield finace. Had to sell virtually the whole squad but still kept them up the following year. Swansea? - They should never have had him in the first place and read above for what he did for them. What do you want to know Flyer? That Getafe, Mallorca, Moscow and Swansea ownership were nuts? Well Getafe spent a good few years afterwards in La Segunda - Michael didn't take them there Moscow - I don't really know but they dont play CL anymore Mallorca are down in La Seginda and penniless - Michael didn't take them there. Swansea? - Let's hope Monk takes them to their rightful place heh.
How many of those games were played in the prt of the Season after the Cup win where the whole town went on holiday? During that period are they in the KO phase of EL? Are they still in the FA Cup having knocked out United at OT? Has Michu been injured for the majority of this Season along with others? 33 points from 35 is just a statistic - make it real man and quantify it before qouting it blindly - Come on TRY HARDER!!!!
