Keane and Dixon were in no doubt tonight that Laudrup will find another team, a big one, in quick time... if he so wants. Very telling that this can be traced back to bickering over transfer funds that were promised but not made available. Shades of the Sousa situation again and further evidence of the small club mentality that is hampering our progress.

On the other hand, if there is unbiased evidence that Laudrup was neglecting his responsibilities in training, that is not acceptable. But I agree with one of the earlier comments that our players are paid enough to take their own responsibility and they were not doing that on the pitch. The point was made during the Fulham game tonight that the manager can only do so much, that it was down to the players on the field to perform. Our lot had stopped doing that some time ago.

I could say a lot more but I'll wait to see what emerges during the next dew days. Safe to say that Chico's days are numbered and no doubt Michu will follow Laudrup perhaps with a few more of the Spaniards now looking for an out.

The above is the reality of what the players dressing room and board had to put up with from Laudrup. on the other side of the fence, Laudrup had to put up with small club mentality that was hampering his progress as a manager, never the twain would meet, at the end of the day it was clear to all Laudrup didn't want to make a go of it, what else could we do? some of the worst football I've seen from Swansea in a very long time!.............<ok>

Rogers style won us the cup....what utter horse ****e. We would never have beaten Chelsea under Rodgers, probably would have lost much earlier. ML led us to the cup win. That is what history will show....how's that for A FACT,

Of all the years , last season will be the best . Taking big scalps , winning the league cup , finishing 9th while cruising the last half dozen games or so when it didn't matter , or so I thought before people started eluding to them as if they were important . Laudrup had the boys believing . I'm sure Huw timed Laudrup' s sacking to coincide with injuries coming back and a better chance at points in the Premier , seeing a more sneaky Huw these days, sitting having coffee my ass , he was fine tuning all this.

I wish you knew what laudrup was like as i did and you would have a change of tune. He was useless man and despised by everyone at the club after only a short time. He was using his status as one of the greatest players of all time but he could not manage an under 12 side let alone a premiership club. He turned us from winners when he took over and very hard to beat to losers in a season and a half, he amassed a poultry 8 wins in all that time....come on now any normal fan would be able to see that he never had it in him....he would miss training because he had some radio job to do abroad somewhere and when he did turn up it was all me me me and very little actual training . it was so bad that players would be knocking on Jenkins door to talk about it.....If only you knew the real laudrup you would not be so far up his arse.....Jenkins made a huge mistake in believing every word he said that he would continue to follow our philosophy which went out the window after Curtis and Rodgers style of football won us the league cup and just 8 wins later it was time to call it a day...

Personally I liked ML and the way he acted, I didnt see him staying next season anyway though. Maybe it was that lack of long term commitment that the club couldnt put up with. Football management seems a crazy world but I am surprised he stayed this season after all the arguments with his friend/agent. Lets just hope that the new manager gets into a little run of wins through new manager syndrome with all the guys trying to fight for a spot on the team/transfer.

If that article has any truth in it, then we may have needed him to go with the position we're in. It may have been ok when we were flying high, but when the chips are down, we need to dig in and if Laudrup does have a laissez faire attitude, it can spell trouble.
I agree that players should be able to motivate themselves for the money they're on, but as Morinho proved this week, there's no substitute for setting up the team for every opponent. It was done to him, he was angry. He did it to Man City, he's hailed a genius.
You be a liar if you said you'd watched all the games we've played this season and never had any doubts about the tactics or team set up at any point. Maybe Garry Monk being pushed towards the back room staff was an attempt to fill in for ML when he wasn't interested. If he truly doesn't like the rain, I'd be surprised if he's been to the training ground in a month. (I mean seriously, this ****ing rain!!!)

I'm not deluded enough to assume that everything we hear from the Mirror is gospel, but all the things that article says can be explained by little stories here and there that we've heard over the last 18months.

Its great to see Dai backing Brendon Rodgers, when Brendon was first put in place by Huw, Dai was hoping the Swans would lose their pre season friendlies because he considered him so poor (along with others on this forum).
With the passing of time ML will be considered our greatest ever manager, 9th in the league, our first major trophy and through the knockout stages of a European competition. Sadly things have not gone well for him this year, but I thank him and wish him all the very best for the future.
Hopefully Huw has something up his sleeve that will keep us up this year, in Huw I trust.

What do you expect a chairman to say in a situation like that. Better to lie to the press (we always lie anyway) than to cause further disruption at a club. Were you expecting to Huw to say the truth - that they're all sick of Laudrup and they are trying to find the cheapest way to get rid of him? Get real. Obvious you've never run anything in your life. Club needs to come first. Who cares if anyone lies to the press.

I like how Dai is banging on about how he is right, because he said this a while ago, but then does that make the board wrong, as Tuts, who wanted to sell Williams, for £10m, to free up some cash to bring in ML:'s type of players, yet the board went nuts over that, and look how Williams has been this season, as captain on the pitch he has been as much to blame as anyone. He has been piss poor himself, so who is right Dai.

Are you and the board right?

Or is ML and Tuts right?

    Or is somewhere in between.

I think you got lucky with 1 of many FACTS of yours. The rest as we know are so full of ****, that they would never come true, you only have to look at the recent proof I posted about how much **** you talk, about how you wanted the board to spend £10m+ on a new signing, yet one month later you were slagging the board off for spending £12m on Bony, and said we should not spend that sort of cash as a small club.

The problem with you Dai, is your say your facts in a scatter gun approach, 1 is bound to be right, and when it is, you go ballistic with happiness, and then come out with the I told you so's, yet you fail to ever acknowledge that you were wrong about the 100 previous attempts.

And you brag about it like your a 12 year old in a school yard. It really is vomit inducing.

I've read a few of these comments but Swim did point out that the Spanish players have had a guts full of Laudrup's training methods and tactics etc also so it will be interesting to see how they respond.

Also Dai, show some humility. Yes you seem to be correct regarding behind the scenes with Laudrup however, you have got your fair share of things wrong in the past a la Bony not worth the money we paid for him.

What was the board supposed to do,, don't get us relegated for a start which is what is going to happen with this sacking and more appropriate the appointment of Monk. Unbelievable

One of my best friends is very good mates with Ashley Williams. I've known that even during Laudrup's first pre-season (so before we'd even kicked a ball in anger under the Great Dane). there were players already complaining about his training methods. There was no focus on fitness and too much work with the ball. The players complained that if they hadn't gone and done their own fitness training, they wouldn't have been ready for the season.

I think that last season, we saw a bit of an overhang from the Rodgers days. Players were used to meticulous preparation and fitness, and when it was clear Laudrup wouldn't give them that, they were just doing it themselves. Laudrup added some serious ball skills and tactical nous to the team and we were very good last year with this combination. However, this year it's clear that our players are not fit enough. They're dropping like flies. Putting together the pieces of the puzzle that I'm fortunate to be available to, I have to put this blame on Laudrup. Fitness is your bread and butter of football in the modern game. You can be the best tactical/technical manager, but if you're squad isn't fit enough, your ideas can't be implemented on the pitch.

Slow, ponderous build-up play and lack of incisiveness in the box? That's what we're seeing. But these players have the skill and speed of thought.. We've seen it. The same players did the business last year! I think they're just being hindered by a lack of basic fitness this year. Frankly, I could only see it getting worse as the season wore on and I applaud the board for acting now and not just going with the flow. It wasn't a panic-sacking. Our board barely have a history in sacking managers, so this was not knee-jerk. This was planned. Probably a few months in planning.

Why sack just after the transfer window? Because the transfer window allows people in and out. If we'd sacked Laudrup during the window, the vultures would have been out on us. Maybe some of our best players would have jumped ship before helping us to league safety? I reckon that Monk probably advised the Emnes and Ngog transfers - knowing that he was coming in. Not great business, but not awful by any means.

My hope is that Monk will bring back some of the fitness methodologies that were brought in by Martinez and Rodgers and apply them quickly. We need this team up to speed as soon as possible.

You I'm afraid remind me of a character called Walter Mitty , look it up .So now you're saying you were that close to Laudrup and you were fully aware of what was happening at the club ,if so then why not divulge this before now you're were on a crusade against him for quite a while and you've had ample opportunity to spread the gossip .Strangely enough though you didn't , I can only assume that you're bullshitting again and trying to make out you're someone in the know . well you may fool yourself but not me and I suspect the majority on here .

I can't say one way or another if this is horseshit or not. (I'm really not saying that either, just making a point). Anyone can say anything, but I've been watching the Swans for years and the outcomes I can corroborate is that we've looked off the pace and fitness could be to blame. Following on from that, I have also spoken to someone related to a few of the player's agents and they've said something similar about fitness training and a bit of disinterest.
