According to Turkish Rumours, a middle eastern cousin of the hilarious Chinese mulitplayer game, Koc Holdings are still interested in taking over Little Old Charlton (TM). This could all stem from the moment Richard 'Dick' Wood joined. But probably not. http://www.cafcpicks.com/cgi-bin/drkish/display.pl?month=201402&date=20140203&time=2329 I have no real comments to add other than how the article above made me feel about 12 different emotions whilst reading it; there was actually quite a bit of optimism whilst reading what it terms Roland's 'Plan A' - but then I was overwhelmed by bewilderment, anger and indifference (in that order). Also, what's this about a London based NFL team? Is that going to be 'round our way then? Is that why Abbey Wood is on the Cross Rail? I'm so confused. I haven't been this confused since I realised that Lindsay Buckingham wasn't the woman in Fleetwood Mac and that it was actually him doing all of the 'oh ah's in 'Big Love'.
Ridiculous. Roland's only been here 5 minutes and the rumours about take-overs starting already! Seems we can't live without them. Maybe we should have a seperate rumours section.
A sign of things to come ? The same thing seems to be happening at other clubs too, including Leeds. You have only got to look at Pompey to see where this type of instability leaves you in the end. When we withdraw from the EU in 2017 we need to go back to "English clubs for English fans" (& FHB of course)
Tee hee hee Vol au vent! I remember the summer after Curbs left, the board started muttering about the need for the manger to be English, and the next thing we knew your mate Murray signed Dowie, and when things went pear shaped Les Reed, Pardew and Parkinson, and we now have the very English SCP in charge. Maybe we might think about more foreigners. My Bolivian mates like a kick about.......
This maybe explains why I didn't get the manager's job when I applied in 1982, I think. CAFC weren't ready for a Scottish manager.
In my application I said that I had wide international experience, being part of Ally's Tartan Army in Argentina 1978, but as you say, they must have been looking for someone with experience closer to home.
Now if you'd said you were part of the England set up that did'nt even qualify, you could probably have named your price!
Ally McLeod- now there was a manager whose head was worth calling for. Can't remember who the England manager was at the time, which proves your point I suppose.
FHB...... a clue..... he didn't get on well with Brian Clough and finished his managerial career in the middle east
