They could have got behind ML and shown more support to him. This all seems to have festered from the Agent nonsense at the start of the season and appears to have been personal.

ML has been made the Fall Guy, but as a matter of principle I think the Board should place Huw on gardening duty for the rest of the season - in order for HIM to learn from this and see how it could have been handled in a more professional way. Our policy during the transfer window could come back to bite us.

Agree. It's amateur at best. Maybe they ran through the scenarios in Champ Manager and saw the future so acted

PGF this is very naive, he's only the mouth peace for all the board, it has to be a majority vote!...............<ok>

You know as I do how Boardrooms work Phil. Yes he's the mouthpiece, but a weak Board can be ruled by a clever Chairperson. Anyway, I said as a matter of principle. The Board as a whole can learn and it would show that they take their share of the blame for this unpleasant situation - at the end of the day they appointed ML.

It won't happen. but it should.

Everyone has an opinion about this dismissal, and that's O.K.
What we as supporters don't know, however,is what has been going on in the background.
Some pretend they are in "the know",but that is merely fanciful bravado.
Only The Board, and Laudrup know the why's and the wherefores of what has transpired.
The Board have decided, and only time will tell if their decision was the correct one.

out of all the posts ive read this is the one that comes closest to how i feel so cheers it saves me the effort of writing my own:emoticon-0148-yes:

I think most of us say goodbye to Laudrup with a heavy heart, we were honoured to employ a man with such weight and connections in the football world and no doubt that has increased our status far and wide. Last season will go down as one of our best ever but it tailed off badly and that has continued into this season. Up until recently we really havent seen Laudrup in a pressured situation but judging by his post match interviews hes been uninspiring at best and disinterested at worst. i was still backing him to keep us up with the injured guys coming back and of course we will never know but having followed the Swans since the dark days I have to back the board to do the right thing.

the timing sucks but the boys need our backing now 100%

That's right. There are two sides to every story and I'm sure neither ML nor Huw and the Board would come out of this smelling of roses

Laudrup is a scapegoat, a cover up for the poor Work the board is doing now. Monk is a puppet - how will he look if Cardiff win this weekend?

At the end of the day it's a results business, and Laudrup just wasn't getting the results this season, what were our board left with? Let us drop out of the Premiership? lose £70 Million? Laudrup's motivational skills were zilch, and it showed on the pitch, his negative football was reminiscent of Sousa, something had to be done, I'm happy that we now got a fighting chance to stay up!................<ok>

    Well then they should:
    * appoint a manager WHO has experience and WHO CAN save the Club, not the discount solution (we paid ML to leave, how can we save Money now).
    * wait until AFTER the Cardiff game: Monks reputation can be ruined in 90 minutes this weekend, will they sack him too?

With all due respect mate. This is the very board who got us to this position to sign the likes of Laudrup!! I think our board needed to act before it was too late!! Relegation was that much a reality!!

Monk has been an amazing servant to our great club. I suggest you revisit the 'puppet' bit!! Also, Cardiff were going to do the 1st South Wales derby-double this weekend, believe me. Think there's every chance they won't now...

Sorry about puppet - I meant in the meaning marionette - he will be sacked this summer if Swansea stays up, if relegated maybe he'll be allowed to stay (eg di Matteo)

I, as stated, believe relegation is much more reality now, than yesterday.

Surely the board did a fantastic job so far. This season the board has been disruptive and unambitious...

Ki (recalled - oh no) -- Britton ---- dyer --- emmners

    Donnely --- NG'gog

No subs for the rest of the season, but Swansea will beat Cardiff ---> never change a winning squad philosophy...
