I know a lot of you on here are big fans of Suso and I think all of us would love to see him come good for us. I have my doubts, however, and feel he may not quite have enough to cut it at the top. Another (slightly better) Pacheco. If that was the case do you think that teixeira might have a better chance of becoming the player that we want suso to be? I have watched him several times for the academy teams and looks an exciting prospect. What are your thoughts? Also...like to see Ryan McLaughlin given some game time over this next 12 months...looks a very exciting prospect.
That Tex fella is someone who everyone has a lot of faith in but he's not really showing any signs of getting near the first team. Suso will next season though.
Suso is clearly ahead of him in the pecking order given he has had some game time with us an a full season in Spain will do him good. Can't say I've seen much of Teixeira but I gather he's a different type of player and more of a central playmaker? think he's about 20 so probably needs some decent games out on loan rather to see how he copes with pro football.
Only just realised he was 20 thought he was younger. It will be interesting to see if either of them can make their respective step up.
Before people start writing Suso off let's wait and see what his loan spell has actually done for him. I have now idea about either Tiexiera or McLaughlin but I do know that Suso has had Premiership experience and that counts for a lot.
I'm not writing him off. I just didn't see enough n his appearances for us to get excited about ( looked to lack a turn of pace) but I'd be more than happy if he was to prove me wrong
The whole situation for Suso has changed since he left. We play in a different style. Coutinho is now the No 1 playmaker so Suso either carves out a role for himself or be prepared to be a skillful benchwarmer.
hmmmmm for me suso is doing it. teixeira is not really doing it at the higher level. I don't know why he's not getting within a mile of the firsts when ben smith is but it is something i wonder about. Is there contract issues? suso is a different case altogether. he's genuinely two footed and his primary problem was figuring out where to play. where is he best. If this loan tells him anything it should do that. suso is a very very good talent.
rememebr tex from the tournament when he played for, think it was sporting, and they ripped us apart in that game, it was a joy to watch even though we was on the wrong end of it. he has potential for sure, unfortunately i havent seen it for us yet, although i havent actually watched a lot fo reserves this season. suso will i hope have similar oprotunities to when we first started Sterling, hopefully suso can rotate with Coutinho. tex is the future hopefully, suso is nearly at the now, he will get more chances next season now i should imagine any way.
It's funny how as they transition through the ranks that those with the most promise often fade and the the kids who were comparatively average come through. Must make scouting kids and more so, letting them go, really tough to pick out the future first teamers.
Joao has been travelling with the first team I think, so he could be closer to progressing than we think ....
he will get a lot of pre season game time hopefully, but that will only be because of all the players at the world cup. be surprised if we see him next season, maybe odd time he might make the bench.
Texeira went out on loan to league 1 and barely played. I'd expect a player of his age who went down two divisions on loan would get games and do well. He really struggled. Suso is on loan in the top flight of Spanish football, starts every game and does well. He also had a good run of games for us last season. Last season Suso looked good but very nervous and held back a lot. In Spain he has found the confidence he needed. He looks llike a much better player now. Texeira had a bad injury at a crucial time in his development. It has either held him a long way to far back or ruined his career.
Can't see teixeira doing well further down the leagues esp league 1. Would not suit his style of play at all. Who did he play for?
