No, who wins the title, who qualifies for Europe and who gets relegated, is all decided by league position. that's the reality.

I think Laudrup has become a victim of his own success. Since winning the cup last year and finishing top half, some seem to think that that is the norm. Truth is we are minnows in this league. Any season where we don't get relegated should be classed as a successful one.

The most telling statistic in all this is our relegation odds which have halved.

Objectively you'd have to say Swansea are favourites for relegation now

The swans are now unshackled, and we will revert back to the football of Martinez and Rodgers, the negative games under Laudrup are history, nice chap, great player, dodgy manager!.................<ok>

Board probably wanted rid of ML. If they were not prepared to support him should have let him go in Summer or latest before transfer window.

Board knew his record with regard being undermined in Spain and walking and possibly expected him to walk when told him they wanted Monk to work with team. When he said he was ok with it .. the gutless idiots pulled the trigger.

Really, the same Monk who allegedly had an argument with Chico in divided camp is going to get the best out of best out of our overseas players. Player power gone mad... andT pathetic board. FACT DAI !!!

True supporters need to seize back control of our club and get rid of this pointless excuse of a board!

Some of your posts recently have had me thinking your HRT patch needed changing, but this ↑ is spot on for me. Welcome back to earth.

Yes this is very true, but I kept a low profile for the peace of this board, had I indulged at the same rate of nots as Dai did, there would have been murder on here for months!..................<laugh>

I'm pissed off at both camps! Laudrup is a good manager and HJ is a good director but without continuity it was inevitable to fail! What a shame. We note must move on and appoint the best man for the job. I seriously have my doubts over monk but will support him just as much as laudrup

The board have made a decision and whilst I'm at a loss to understand their thinking I will for the time being offer my support to the board and team. I can understand that they felt that ML could not take us any further but I am at a loss as to why they they appointed Garry Monk as our new head coach. In all honesty it's an astounding decision. They should have had a plan in place in the event such a situation would be forced upon them but they obviously didn't. I hope that if this decision backfires and I'm positive it will, they will have the good grace to also offer their resignations come end of May.

Just read the boards appraisal of our head coach and I must admit it's the first time I've read 10 paragraphs on his appointment, do the board realise they've handed him the managers job because there's only mention of his playing career. Oh yes that's all there is

Exactly. What right do we have to have such high expectations? He's a novice in the world of management yet we expect to be winning the league

You could argue that the more ML tinkered with BR's team, the less successful we became. 36 points from last 38 PL matches is relegation form.

Yes it is a gamble but on balance I would prefer a committed Jack to a disinterested Dane.

So sad that the board required to sack Laudrup, but probably the best decision. Football was awful under him this season mostly, perhaps now we'll get the spark back. We we're sleep walking to relegation!! Thanks for the cup Michael, but maybe being a top top manager is just beyond you I feel. I trust the board to continue to steer us in the right path, as they have done so for the last 13 years. Anyone who doesn't want to support the guy's who have got us to where we are now, should maybe remember this is the best period in our history..

And anyone who thinks the board deserve our support, for what they have done, should remember that all good things do come to an end at some point. And we should be prepared for that to happen too. Even the best of us make mistakes.
