Was listening to radio north east tonight when the phone in was on. There was a fan called in oh said that the 3-0 would hold much less significance to Newcastle fans if they had a cup final in 3 weeks! But as they're out of every competition it hurts an awful lot more

Not far off. I paid for my son and two daughters as a "treat". By the time I'd paid for the coach up, a canny few beers and something to eat, it was the thick end of £300.

£300 to watch that ****e. Still, wouldn't swap my time following Newcastle.

It's a disgrace that our hierarchy hold the cups in such low esteem. You'd think we were used to winning them? Weakened team in all the cup, even the Europa until the later rounds......

I've never understood this with either club mate ........ neither will ever win the league again but crawl out of the cups.

Sunderland have been shocking in recent years.

Yet look at the excitement created by the 'lesser' cup final ......... I know people flying in from places like Hong Kong & Oz with no tickets.

We're still talking about 1973 like it was last week ffs.

    Excuses....Excuses... <laugh>

Your team against Cardiff might have had 2 or 3 players rested at the most in the FA cup (was still a home-tie as well). You also played very strong teams in the league cup against Leeds and then Man City.
