Can anyone explain to me why QPR fans, especially those who live in Ealing, some of whom might even use Warren Farm, are not lobbying the Council with our own signatures to support the project?
the council are on our side so it would make no difference, however it could be done if it went to court as proof the public support it.
http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/giving-away-61-acre-green-6670147? Not sure this is democracy in action- its exactly what I said. Moody old people with nothing better to do and no intention of using the brilliant new facilites. And dog walkers who want to let their dogs dump all over the place. And the crowd is padded out with a few kids who obviously are only there because they’ve been dragged along by their bitter old parents. “Carolyn Brown, head of Southall Community Forum” also isn’t the most mobile of people as the pciture from googling her shows– don’t think she was intending to get her shin pads on any time soon. http://saveyourlibrary.com/2012/02/...library-proposal/hanwell-library-campaigners/
O/T but Warren Farm brings back those school football and rugby trips in the dead of winter where we would freeze our balls off out on the fields. Good old memories from Christopher Wren!
Aged 12, I attended a school where the sports fields were located a considerable distance from the school buildings, and I recall you were punished if you took a short cut. Cross country running in the dead of winter was also fun!
It's England of course no one wants change ... It's a dog **** tip sell up and move to Brighton ... London is changing
In addition to this we are effectively erecting whats going to look like a very ugly and very big Tescos like building, where before there was open park land. If they decided to do it on the park behind my house I'd be ****ing livid! If Rangers tone down the look and size of the thing, make it blend in a bit more and make sure that the community aspect is properly catered for (so they're not just paying it lip service) then we might get these people onside.
Good to hear from another Wren boy but TBH I don't know how you remember football and rugby at Warren Farm in the winter. As soon as a light shower arrived in October the groundsman declared the pitches to be waterlogged and they stayed that way until the Cricket season started. As a result, cross-county running down by the canal is pretty much all I remember. Either the groundsman was lying and had his feet up rather than working (surely not) or QPR are going to have a hell of a job getting things in order!
