Even when England are not playing well (i.e. most of the past 20+ years) it's still massive business and helps globally. If Saints were to get several players into the England team it can only help Saints plans for global domination

 

I'm an England fan as well as a Saint and it worries me that we can talk of thinking we should have 8 players in the England squad when we will probably finish 9th this year in the PL - light years away from the top 4 if we are honest.

This isn't meant to be negative towards Saints but jeez as an England fan it is worrying.

 

Not really when some of the teams above play hardly any English players.

 

Just look at the top three teams. When Arsenal played us, they started no English players. Man City started one last night. Chelsea started two. You'd have to go a decent way down the Prem just filling spaces in the squad from the top down before you had a team. You'd probably reach us just on that basis, let alone when you're picking on merit.

England should just take our team minus the foreigners and just fill the gaps from the rest of the EPL
