Good Morning folks, Eleonora Sport Ltd, the company led by Italian mad man Massimo Cellino seems to have suffered a massive body blow, when it was announced that Sport Capital (Haigh, Flowers etc) are joining forces with Together Leeds (Farnan, Pearson etc) to form a super consortium. This group will put a formal offer forward to GFH Capital later today, which will match Cellino's offer for 75% of the ownership of Leeds Utd football club. Does this make a difference? Do too many cooks spoil the broth? Will GFH listen to this new consortium, surely they must be expecting official news shortly whether Cellino has passed the fit and proper persons test? Would GFH Capital accept the new consortiums bid solely on the grounds that they did not like the way Cellino had acted last Friday? Reading between the lines, when Cellino's solicitor was escorted off Elland Road yesterday by Haigh and Patel, it filled me with some pride and belief. Belief that maybe GFH are trying to do the right thing. I wish I had been there to give Chris Farnell what for. To sacked somebody with immediate effect over the telephone without hesitation, you'd need to be a cold heartless bastard. Have the actions of Cellino's men ruffled GFH's feathers? Are they going to fight back? We'll have to wait and see? What is your favourite, and least favourite Leeds shirt, and why? please log in to view this image
Morning all. The 74 one. Probably sentimental reasons as I associate that with a great era and team. As for takeover, not worried anymore. Despite reports Cellino has passed the fitness test, not a chance in hell gfh will sell to him. They've said all along they have the future interests of Leeds at heart and with the new super Consortium of local businessmen, led by their own man, mr Haigh, entering negotiations at same money offered as Cellino, it's a no contest.
GFH have introduced what is known as 'competitive tension' in other words is all about raising the price. I dont trust GFH as they have clearly proved that the only thing they want is as much cash as can be gotten. The joined up bid will in the end produce more years of power struggles in the board room (Rangers anyone) They still dont have the cash to buy players never mind buy back ER and TA. No its becoming a vanity project thats all. The Italian may not be ideal, because we read stories, but none of us know the facts and he could turn out to be the owner we deserve who can take us up and forward. Him or the big group? Italian for me because we will be in administration again with the other lot
Morning all, the more I read about the people involved in the rival bid the more I want Cellino to complete his takeover
The 1990-92 home and away strip for obvious reasons, and should be reinstated, especially the away strip. The present away strip is the worst ever followed by 94-96 (a) green and blue? wtf is that all about. TO, cannot be bothered with it dear fellow fans!!
Well apart from the scouse gangster, and Flowers who's planning to sue Leeds United, not one of them comes across as having the club's best interests at heart, apart from maybe Haigh who's becoming increasingly desperate in his attempts at bringing in what in my eyes are small time businessmen whatever their background may be. Too many cooks equals a recipe for disaster.
Was thinking the same, it sounds like the choice is one crook who wants to throw tons of money at it but with it comes a character that is going to have us frustrated at times or a gang of crooks squabbling between themselves and when one of them has an outside problem with one of their 'other interests' how destabilizing or problematic will it be when that one investor wants his money back/out.
It was also the scouse who was going to have Steve Gerrard topped because the scouse was doing Gerrards wife. SG had to back down and retract his allegations because his family was been threatened. Stevies wife went back to him and is still with him, but there are problems between the families. This bloke was also backing the fool who wanted to buy Liverpool, but ended up with Wolves and we know how well that went. Fit and proper? the Italian is a better bet
Makes you wonder about the Sports Capital bid - apparently there were 4 of them involved - Haigh, Flowers, Riley and 1 other. What is the connection between Haigh/Riley or Flowers/Riley and who is the 4th? And who was the one that pulled out (rumours were that it was Flowers?)

A payment of £4m is due to Bates by the end of February, £6m is owed to the Sport Capital consortium, and apparently Crewe are to report Leeds for non payment of £150,000 instalment re Luke Murphy transfer. What a mess.
Morning all (just!) 74/5 and 88/90 are my favourites even though 74/5 is way before my time! This takeover needs resolving (how many times have we said that before?!) we're the laughing stock of the football league at the minute, and people won't let us forget this for a while I don't think. I'd like to agree that GFH are reacting to the events of Friday and considering the best for the future of the club, but I do worry that a combined consortium has too many people. We don't want to resolve the takeover only for a power struggle to kick off!
So lets face it we can stay with the skint dodgy bastards, sell to a group of fairly Rich dodgy bastards or sell to a mega rich dodgy bastard. Everyone wanting Cellino out but really none are any better than the rest
Cellino went in like a bull in a china shop when he assumed he already had control of the club, apparently after having been informed by Nooruudin that the takeover was complete, and has rightly received criticism, but by the same token he should get credit for turning down last minute bids in the region of £6m for McCormack, and for blocking Varney's move to Blackburn, preferring quite rightly to let him rot in the reserves after refusing to play against Ipswich. The Italian is obviously a loose cannon, but not everything he's done so far is detrimental to the club.
