    AS PER THE BBC

Swansea City chairman rejects Michael Laudrup rumours

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has rejected claims the club have discussed manager Michael Laudrup's future.

Rumours have been circulating about Laudrup's future after the Swans lost 2-0 at West Ham on Saturday.

It was their sixth defeat in eight Premier League games, leaving them only two points off the relegation places.

"I haven't heard anything in reference to Michael and neither have we met, or discussed, or done anything about Michael," said Jenkins “It's difficult for me to say anything because there isn't anything to discuss” Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins

"A couple of us did actually meet up on Sunday morning to have a cup of coffee like we normally do. That's as simple as it was. That's where the first rumour came from.

"It's difficult for me to say anything because there isn't anything to discuss."

The Swans have slipped to 12th in the table but are only three points ahead of rivals Cardiff, who are second from bottom.

The two clubs meet at the Liberty Stadium in a crucial south-Wales derby on Saturday.

"The bigger picture as always is winning a Premier League match and it so happens this week we are playing Cardiff," he said. "Winning the match, I can assure you, is the most important thing for both teams."

Added Jenkins: "When you end up losing matches, when everything is so tight at the bottom of the Premier League, you get rumours and you get stories. We have had them for many weeks.

"If we win everything is fine. If we lose it's not."

Nice try girls, Usual suspects spouting the usual cr4p, yawn!

    @ Stumpy

If you want to believe all that garbage from Huw then fine, but if you think that after this seasons results the Swansea Board have not discussed the Managers position, then your simply deluded!.................<ok>

Of course the club have backed him by bringing in the players he wanted. What do you want the board to do, spend an extra 15million on a British player? ML has always said he could get quality for low prices in Spain. Also have to remember if we were to have bought JDG it would have cost us at least 5million, Canas would have cost similar but he saw out his contract and we got Poz at a bargain price because of the financial situations in Spanish football.
Let's face it, everybody was more than happy with the players brought in the summer, and nobody was saying then that the board wasn't backing ML to the hilt then.

The club have bent over backwards to accommodate laudrup since he came here. Laudrup thinks he is a big time manager just because he was one of the best players who ever kicked a ball when in fact he is a small time manager and not a very good one at that as he is proving time after time. His head is so big he cant get through the door and nobody likes him including most of the players. He is so unapproachable to the mere mortals like you or me or any one of the non playing staff who works at the club. he even thinks he can go above jenkins but jenkins is the man for him and that's why the dont get on and the sooner we get rid of this waste of space the sooner we will get back to where we belong with the talent we have at our club...he has lost the dressing room ages ago and that has shown on the pitch and will continue to show as long as he is here...
