because we did not put ANY pressure on them whatsoever . They had all the time in the world to make their half dozen goals . Chelsea have no better players than us , they are just pressing them on everything and chasing every ball . We did neither
Hazard what a quality player. As for why City didn't play like this against us, City haven't suddenly turned bad today, Chelsea have made them look bad because they've contained City, City started brightly, Chelsea managed to calm the storm, and have taken control from there. Unlike when we played City, they overran our midfield, and basically played at will. Give credit where credit is due, City are looking average because of Chelsea.
Mourinho has done this before; sometimes it is just a matter of showing other teams how to beat your rivals. Man City looking decidedly average and Chelsea have done nothing out of the ordinary skill-wise, just a lot of pressing high up the pitch, rather different to the English way of dropping back into 2 banks of 4. You could say it is very anti-football, but I'm loving it.
We didn't have any defensive midfielders I believe in the last 15-20 minutes which is when they completely annihilated us in the middle of the park, don't know what Wenger was thinking really. That's one gripe I have with Wenger, you look at Mo, and you can see there is a plan-tactic against City and usually in all their big games, unlike us, were the plan is simple, pass-pass 'play our game' and let's see what happens, you can't simply rely on that in the big games, and especially against a team like City who have been on fire.
