I will repeat what I have just said. Of course, the sale of Modric can't be completely ruled out. However, as was stated in the saga about Utd y'day, Spurs are determined to keep Modric. In my view, to be able to justify any sale after what has been said, and to the other players, it would have to be the kind of bid that no sensible club could refuse. I believe you're talking well in excess of £30mm. As i said - It's irrelevant talking about his "market value" and comparing him to what other players are supposedly worth. The only thing that counts is, what he's worth to Spurs.

In my opinion Parker is not a patch on Modric. but in Harry's eyes Parker will be brough in and played alongside what we already have I fear.

Chelsea will have a manager before pre season starts and you can bet he will want to make big signings too.

Being Fulham's second club must be a bit like being Hotspur's second club too ........<whistle>

I think i answered why we are called chelsea, if some of the words are too big for you, let me know.

What's it like living in arsenal's shadow?? Do you think any chelsea fans really give a **** about fulham?? Really?? Yes they can claim we are fulhams second club and all that nonsense but we are the bigger club no question. Same can't be said of your lot in North London though can it.

Do you really need me to list the reasons why Modric would come to chelsea regardless of whether a manager has yet to be instilled.

Chelsea will have a manager - so your question had already been answered <doh>
As for Chelsea being called Chelsea - ask the Chelsea fans about that one.
As I said, being referred to as 'Fulham's 2nd Club' is a lot like Spurs being Hotspur's 2nd club

Spurs being Hotspur's second club is precisely because there was one that predated yours - it's not that hard to understand. <ok>

I think you've lost him there.

He's probably gone off to draw some cocks in his school text books to make himself feel better.

No the club were called 'Hotspur FC' - the first Hotspur club, formed in 1878 a full four years before THFC and two years before the Hotspur cricket club <ok>

Got no response to my post at 51 then? Just rather tie yourself in knots about history of your own club you don't seem to know. But hey Im the glory hunting plastic fan apparently.

    Back to topic...

If Modric's agent leaked the offer made, i wonder if this was on modric's instruction and why???

As someone who has an equal hate for both clubs, I can say without bias that any claim to superiority is at least with merit and spurs' general bitterness towards arsenal has all the makings of what fergie would refer to as 'small club mentality'.

You can keep referring to us as Fulham's second club all you want, i and most chelsea fans couldn't care less. I'm more concerned with winning trophies and supporting a great club than what post code the ground is in. But again i'm not the one with a complex about my neighbours. Fulham are a great club with great history but even their fans would admit, Chelsea are the bigger and more successful club.

You say we are managerless as if no-one wants the job. It is clearly the matter of dealing with the formalitites, are you really that thick??

Now why would Modric want to play for Fulham's most successful club....

    - Champions league football
    - A chance to compete for the biggest trophies
    - More money
    - To step out of Arsenal's shadow
    - To play with World Class players
    - To live and play in the beautifull area of West London

    over to you...

Are you incapable of addressing the point without pushing your anti chelsea agenda??

It's a valid point, one you choose to ignore because of your fear that your poster boy could be wearing our blue by August. Oh dear. Anyway, I hear Charlie Adam and Parker are available. Enjoy.

Torres has thus far proved to be a bad signing but I will give him more than a few weeks to prove his worth. Class is permanent as they say. Still light years ahead of anything you have up front.

If we sell Modric the direction of the club will take shape by his replacement. It's a given that he is a tremendous talent but there are other players out there who are as skillful and could do a similar job. What makes me worried is the prospect of signing someone like Parker or Cole to 'boost' the midfield. Not that I want to jump on the bandwagon of Barcelona but that does seem to be a style that has elevated the level of play. I think we need to sign players that think and play in a similar style otherwise we are just going to be exposed like ManU, who were almost like Wimbledon of old playing Barca. Other teams want Modric because he is that type of player which is clear sign that the other big clubs know they are playing catch up with Barca.
I think we need to decide what type of club we want to be. sell Modric, get Marin, Eriksen and we might get over the sale. Sign Parker and we have another midfielder who primary job will be running after the other teams as they pass and dribble there way through our midfield.

    Finally a constructive comment.

The Barca reference is spot on. The last 3 champs league winners have had Sneijder or Xavi in their midfield. Chelsea, United and the like must have seen what an impact these two players are having and are looking to get a similar set up IMO.

You can say what you want about Chelsea being a big club, and being more successful than Fulham/Spurs and all that malarky. But at the end of the day, the club you support play terrible football full of detestable money-grabbers and anyone who follows Chelsea is a glory-hunter. They're definitely not a fan of football anyway.

I love Spurs because of our history, our attacking philosophy and I'm very proud of the squad that we have now. Determined, quality professionals who love our club and look at it as more than just a job.

Now I'm not saying for one second that everyone who plays for us loves us. But I know that Modric does. And you can talk about trophies and being a big club and that, but I personally believe that he is a true professional that appreciates how lucky he was to come into a club that loves him so much and that matters a lot more to him than any big Chelsea wage packet. Especially if it means having to play a part in your boring, boring matches.

You can talk all you want about Chelsea's trophies, but that's all your club has. I'd support Spurs if we were in the Championship, I honestly think 90% of Chelsea's fanbase will leave when the money does. Get it into your head. Money and trophies aren't what makes a football club, Modric knows that and he will not leave, and if he ever does, it won't be for Chelsea. Quote me on that.

Please post more of this bitterness. Puts a smile on my face everytime.

Our players are only detestable to you becuase of your bitterness. Not every chelsea fan is a glory hunter. Jesus my dad's eyes fill up everytime he talks about us nearly going out of business in the early 80's. He has seen the reward for his loyalty like many others. Spurs play some nice football but least not forget we won the double 13 months ago having scored 103 goals in a season, a record. Our brand of football is fine thank you.

Modric loves you about as much as every footballer loves the club that pays his wages. John Terry, Ledley King, Gary Neville etc I truely believe love their clubs but they are the minority. You son, are frightningly deluded.

My club has a damn sight more than trophies but you seem to think that becuase you aren't winning things that gives you some sort of working class underdog status that must mean your fans are better than ours type nonsense.

So many bad points its hard to know where to start.

Torres - I said I would give him more than a few weeks to prove himself. Meaning that I'm not writing him off after a few weeks of average football since Jan. He has at least till the end of this coming season to prove himself in my eyes.

You used to like us, you mean before we started winning trophies with regularity?? Jealousy, bitterness, you decide. As I said before, If Spurs start winning things then you will attract the same glory hunters that we have and united did in the 90's, liverpool in the 80's etc. Thats a part and parcel of football. Do you really not understand that??

    Modric

    - Champions league football
Why should he take the gamble? Spurs will struggle to qualify again this year especially with Liverpool back in the mix. Is Modric good enough for the CL?
    Clearly.
    - A chance to compete for the biggest trophies
Yes they 'compete' but Chelsea provides a bigger chance of winning said trophies.
    More money
He would be on more money and a nice signing on bonus to boot.
    - To step out of Arsenal's shadow
Your response is so funny it hurts. Your really are bitter about arsenal aren't you!!! Lets hope Modric aint for your sake aye.
    - To play with World Class player
Not to the same level as at chelsea as proven by our success against yours in the last few seasons.
    - To live and play in the beautifull area of West London
    who cares.

I think I said winning trophies with regularity. Can't you read? You have just posted half a page of waffle becuase you can't understand a simple point.

So we have won about the same in the 7-8 years since roman compared to the near 100 years that preceded him. That's what eats you up. Not the occassional success we had every 20 years or so but the sustained success we are having now. You wouldn't call it rot if the boot was on the other foot, ask City fans.

If you are genuinely 56+ it is more than tragic that you can't put together a coherent argument or reign in your bitterness towards us and arsenal. You come accross as about 16 tops.

Torres? Once again read the reply you dim wit. I said I'd give him till the end of this coming season. I haven't moved the goal posts, you just can't read.
