All Levy wants is the Champions League money, isn't interested in anything else but that ship has sailed now and selling off the best players and bulk buying at the last minute has basically ripped apart everything that was good about the old team so they have to start again.

Won't name names but I got laughed at by a few on the Spurs board in August for suggesting Liverpool would finish above them. My reasons were that they had a settled side, better manager and genuine world class player which Spurs no longer have having sold Bale.

What Levy tried to do is what he's always done, trying to cut corners at the expense of saving a few pennies.

If Levy had strengthened in the January 2012 window then Spurs would have at least finished 3rd thus guaranteeing them automatic CL qualification and their prospects would have been a lot better.

At the moment I don't see how Spurs will get top four now or in the immediate future. United possess a better group of players and Liverpool are a better team and will look to strengthen once they secure CL football (which looks inevitable if they win today). It's going to be extremely tough for Spurs and Everton and IMO the CL ship has sailed. Competition is too tough and none of Chelsea, City or Arsenal will drop out.

I've said it time and again, but Daniel Levy is the reason Spurs keep failing. He seems to get a free ticket by most spurs fans as he's good at selling players, but what good is that when you're trying to build a squad ? He seems to be completely bereft of man management skills and has dispensed with two of the best managers Spurs have had in decades on a whim. Even texting one at HT to tell him he was sacked, what sort of **** does that ?

It makes me laugh how Spurs fans keep defending him and laud him as some kind of tactical genius. If he were chairman at Arsenal I'd be ****ing seething. He got lucky with Real paying crazy money for Bale, but then along with Baldini proceeded to piss it all up the wall and some. They have been left with a squad that is worse than the one they dissembled and they are over a hundred million worse off for it too, crazy.

One of them is a certain person who said at the beginning of the season Michael Dawson would get into any Premier League XI. The other is a well known friend of yours banned on most boards <ok>

Levy being "the best chairman in the league" is football's greatest myth. They are where they are in spite of him not because of him. The potential Spurs had from 2006-2012 was spurned by his ego and unwillingness to invest at the right time. The only time Levy dips his hand in the wallet is when Spurs are in a relegation battle or struggling. When he messes up the manager always becomes the scapegoat. It's like Abramovich, Buck and Gourlay at Chelsea but without the success to boot.

Many of us agree, so sad for many of us as we had a genuine chance of the "Next Level"
750,000 is Spurs yearly average net spend over the last 5 years , I am surprised on that ***iness commitment
from Levy/Lewis we are not fighting regulation.
As I said before ENIC are parasites .

Piskie I agree it's crazy how he has such vocal support from some , they are usually the bunch that wanted AVB and
constantly bring up bookeeping as the club's main ambition. they are certainly a minority.
They are a sort of Fifth Column for us.

Spurs are actually one of the highest spending clubs on transfers in the premier league. They like to bang on about net spend to try and gloss over that fact, but they still outspend Arsenal even taking that into consideration. In fact since the PL began they have shelled out more than Man Utd on transfers. They are like Chelsea without the success from that perspective.

As for Levy, he was blaming AVB for the failed summer spending, when it was him and Baldidi who sanctioned the transfers, many of which were said to be against AVBs wishes. The man is a total ****, wrapped up in his own hype and given a free ride by the majority for Spurs fans.

Liverpool have drawn keeping them closer to the top 4 fight than the title race.

Was just about to post that too. What a calamitous error and it cost Liverpool dear today.

I still quite like K. Toure, disappointed he went to L'pool. Glad to see them slip up.

Just saw an article having to do with Chelsea complaining on the unfairness of ManCity's spending, saying they cant compete with that.

As best as I can tell none of it was meant to be taken as satire.

Well, in fairness to Chelsea they seem to be a bit worried about FFP and have reined in their spending.

I suspect, for them, it is more than a little irritating to know that they had the money and didn't spend it, because of FFP, and then find out that City haven't given a toss and carried on spending regardless.

I think this is the worst part about FFP, if you have a rule and don't enforce it, you actually punish the clubs that follow the rules, not the ones that break them. And that holds true to the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law. Trying to find loopholes is just cheating in disguise.

So it's City vs Chelsea tonight, and it's great that we managed to win yesterday because we can all relax and watch these two go at it. City are the obvious favourites, but I think Chelsea have the power and defensive nous to stop them. Hoping for a draw.

It's the best result. City will lose the 100% home record and both will drop points. Chelski will gain a lot of confidence if they can draw there though.
