Could not agree more on the first part. I think that Aluko may get a bench spot against Saints @ home tuesday week. Maybe a start @ Brighton with less pressure on him. But yes having a 100% fit Aluko back is worth the wait.
Give Aluko a free role. Let him exploit the space other create. For the time being it could well be either Brady or Aluko though who starts. More chance of both in a 3 - 5 - 2 formation though. imo.
Alot could well depend on how Aluko goes in tomorrows behind closed doors game @: Ferriby. By all accounts the pitch was very heavy going(playing wise) for NFU on saturday. For the sake of an extra week we dont need to rush Aluko.
I don't think a 4-4-2 with Aluko and Brady would be too bad. Brady is a capable LB so even when playing LM he can help out Fig on the left. Elmo has offered very little defensively (or in attack) as well so I don't think Sone at RM would make much of a difference to how we are playing.
Ffs John, I was hoping you wood turn over a new leaf, but now I see you're still branching out into puns.
I wonder when he will twig that he is barking up the wrong tree with the diamond formation, best to leaf that one alone
--------- Shagger Elmo Davies McShane Brady ------ Huddlestone ---- Livermore Quinn Long --- Jelavic --- Aluko Should solve the scoring problem.
On the diamond, doesn't a diamond 4-4-2 play with 2 wingers still but have a centre mid plodding about in front of the centre halves all game whilst the other plays right up with/behind the strikers? That diamond with Meyler and Livermore looks very narrow.
I'd go with: ------------McGregor------- Elmohamady --Davies ---McShane ---Rosenior -------Livermore Huddlestone Aluko-------- Long ---------Brady ------------Jelavic------
He's alright, he won't have to get forward with an attack like that. It's either him or McShane (and that should never happen) due to Figueroa's dodgyness.
