Modding Notice - Crossroads

You know what I think roller has been very clever here.
He's thrown the stone and then given enough rope for those that want to to go hang themselves.

50% of this page is from people on my ignore list (impressive considering only 3 are on there) so I agree with you, its like a honeypot for them.

 

We did all this not long ago didnt we? We agreed to self moderation and when that fails agreed upon a course of action for roller & nines to follow

Lets stick to that. I have complete faith in the 2 lads to do the right thing.

I must say though that the Leicester Mod plum was v annoying and meant i stayed away from certain threads. Banter is one thing but being abusive is not

My relationship with Flyer is that I occasionally (very occasionally) go to matches with him....the point I was trying to make was...yes Flyer is a half empty person and actually I find it draining too...but he actually knows a lot about football....and people ignore the sensible but negative things he says. I know lots of other people on the board too...I like them all...we love the same footy team....I like those other posters I haven't met too....even you Swords...I can see where you are coming from most days before you go off track and lose it....and so many times you are in the right, but allow it all to fall away in gratuitous arguments that get to close to the bone too quickly. Chill out Swords...no one is out to get you..the good and sensible things you say get lost in the argument.

WE are being trained to not read things properly....Flyer slags of the club (no he doesn't all the time), Swords is a Chelsea WUM looking for an argument (no), Col hates Norwich, yes he does but there is more to him than that, Willy just tries to put his view across, and as he is so fervent he pushes longer than some might like.

I do not care...what I want to read---I will, what is boring usually fades away.

Chill out Swords...do not take everything personally....because it isn't

The mods should mod in the way that was agreed not too long ago. There has been a clear deterioration in the board caused by a limited few. One of the reasons I rarely post now. They shouldn't have to justify their actions but deal as already agreed. Many if the responses here sum up why they should do so!

 

You only got a namecheck in my original post by way of response to your earlier contribution to this thread, Trav. The only one that's made a connection between winder-uppers on that Open Debate thread and your good self is your good self. You therefore have my permission to wind your neck in.

 

Anyone who thinks there is any hidden agenda behind this is well off the mark. This was not about drawing out any problem posters (we have always had the option to ban anyone we want), it was not intended as a warning for the serial rule breakers (these are generally done behind the scenes), nor was it an attempt to change any of the rules (I know that I, for one, could not improve upon them). It was exactly what I put in the opening post, that is an attempt to establish how you want us to moderate the forum. From a quick glance through it would appear that we need to make more effort to cut out the personal abuse otherwise most are happy enough.

Nines and I will read through in detail, compare notes and thoughts and take things from there.

There is one issue I'd like to deal with straight away though. Swords, I personally find your suggestion that we can be influenced into disciplining someone by one or two posters continually complaining ridiculous, and would like to point out that if this was true you would not be able to make such a comment.

If it was indeed a feint by Roller then he's a wily old fox. The same was often said of General Robert E Lee.

His ploy has worked brilliantly. He's drawn myself and others from our entrenched positions on the high ground, right out into the open where he can employ his artillery to pick us off at will. I've fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

I always knew that boy was dangerous.

That merely confirms my long-held suspicions that its not you boys that are at fault here Roller, its that there is indeed a gang of touts secretly informing on their fellow members.

Its not a nice situation we have here.
