Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has told Sky Sports News that Michael Laudrup remains the club's manager - but we understand the board are split over his future at the Liberty Stadium.

Laudrup, who won the League Cup in his first season with Swansea, has steered the club into the FA Cup fifth round, but they are struggling in the Premier League and lie just two points above the relegation zone. Saturday's 2-0 defeat at West Ham was their 12th league loss of the season, with the Swans having won just six of their opening 24 games.

Laudrup has a strained relationship with Jenkins and has been tipped to leave at the end of the season. But it is understood some senior figures at the club are keen to bring forward a change in manager. Swansea face arch rivals Cardiff in their next game, and tackle Everton in the FA Cup and Napoli in the Europa League later this month.

I phoned my mate who is part of the trust to see what he knew and the trust want him sacked because of his contempt and lack of respect in not attending the meeting today. He buggered off to france after the west ham game and Jenkins is furious. I hope we decide to sack him tomorrow like the trust wants as you have to be realistic that he (laudrup) dont really care what happens to us....He should have had the team doing extra training today like any normal manager would do after the shocking form we are in...

I was reading an article regarding the West Ham game and Chico, and when Laudrup was interviewed regarding Chico this was his exact response, Laudrup said: “I will see it more times and if he was over-reacting, then of course I will speak to him. Will he change? I don’t know." what a poor response, matter of fact if I was manager I would bench Chico after already talking to him back last November regarding cheating and rolling around, this response by Laudrup is half hearted, and shows his heart is no longer in the job!...................<ok>

I see Ashley Williams is ashamed of the West ham performance, not that I'm interested in what any of the players have got to say at the minute!

You can still get odds of 6/5 for Laudrup to be next PL manager to leave. So seems like he might hang on a bit longer. Maybe until after Cardiff match.

Laudrup is back on Tuesday according to the Daily Mail. Currently in Paris (job interview?).

If the Trust want him fired for not showing up at their meeting ... then there can be no trust in the Trust. Idiocy abounds.

Well we don't know the details or whether there's any truth in this anyway but if one of your employees didn't show up to a meeting he should have would you be miffed? Saying that, that in itself should be no reason to fire him, maybe more an excuse.

So Laudrup had to battle to get Bony and the Board decided, reluctantly, to back him. What are they like? Where would we be without Bony, not just for his goals but for his overall contribution? We are a petty, small minded club trying to do things on the cheap and you CANNOT do that in the Premier League. Do they expect Laudrup to pull a £2 million Michu out of the hat whenever they click their fingers? Money has to be spent just to stay in this league and Laudrup was crystal clear when he made that point earlier in the season.

No wonder our manager is looking utterly frustrated. He is having to work with a petty minded, small time Board and a clique of players (Monk? Williams?) continuously moaning behind his back. For me, Monk can haul his ass out of the club as quickly as he can and Williams should start concentrating on eradicating the many mistakes in his game, which have cost us points and been a large factor in our precarious position. I would also strip him of the captaincy because I believe he is pretty useless at it - a do-as-I say type as opposed to do-as-I-do. He could hardly be the latter given the howlers he has committed this season.

I would like Laudrup to leave now. Not because he is doing a bad job but because I think he deserves far better than us. He is an intelligent and honest man with dignity. He has never been properly backed by the Board because they are a bunch of half wits who think that signing the likes of Emnes is as good as getting Zaha. Idiots!!!

Yankee suppose you are the manager and after that display at west ham that put us further in trouble would yo fly off on a break obviously not telling anyone as the board called an emergency meeting on a Sunday to discuss the situation. Ml could not be bothered to turn up and he is the manager...disrespectful i call it and shows exactly what he is all about. He should have got his players to report to the training ground like any other good manager would do for extra training and not swan off as if he did not have a care in the world.. we have a derby match next and i know he says its just another game but he should show some commitment to the club who pays his high wages. I find it shocking and im with the trust in sacking him there and then and as far as im concerned they still sack him for unreasonable behavior and not attending the meeting that has a lot to do with him...It's Shocking that he is away until Tuesday when we Fighting for our premiership status and a derby match days away...Would you do what he did yankee???

I think the whole of Swansea is split on this but going against the situation isn't helping at all. Sometimes you just have to choose the right time for this and this isn't the time to pile added pressure on the team. The best way to help this situation is support and cheer the team along to lift the tension that is already there! PGF I FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL 100% Jack 100% support for the team! From me!

As I don't know what he "did" .... and don't consider you or anybody a valid source of information I'm in no position to comment. But for the Trust to call for his resignation is absurd. What have the trust done to determine who f**ked up on the Ki contract (if the 20 start minimum is true) and the loan agreement. Let's focus on material things and NOT things that stroke peoples egos or apparently don't as the case maybe.

Couldn't disagree more. They have more than backed him with the players we have brought in during the time he has been here. As for Bony, I thought he was a HJ signing rather than a ML signing as Laudrup wanted Aspas?

Yep I agree. They were convinced or agreed Laudrup would go at the end of season and so have not backed him. Ok there are plenty of reasons why things have been difficult but lack backing particularly in this recent window could be disastrous.

Not taking chances to score is not new but to be so defensively weak is and Ashley has to take some responsibility. Laudrup and the team earned the right to have a go at the Europa cup alongside home competitions but the board have just been crap. If we have to use the agent guy to get players like Michu I wouldn't complain. But it appears to have upset HJ.

Tiendalli, Chico, Amat, Michu, Pozuelo, JDG on loan x 2, Pablo, Scheter, Lamah, Vazquez, Bony, Canas.

Yep looks like HJ hasn't backed ML in the transfer market at all <laugh> <doh>
