Shola is apparently the better player mate. Pardew seems to love the wretched ****.

 

I wonder if some of it is because when he was a player Pardew was the grafter who used to have to really work hard in training etc but had limited natural ability. Maybe he has an affinity for those players who are similar. Saying that I doubt Shola really works that hard at training considering how lazy he seems in most matches.

 

I think Pards is just scared of him since he 'bulked up' and can't say no to him being picked.

Or maybe pards is hoping to put Shola in shop window and keep the attension away from Cisse. Problem is, nobody will want to pay a bean for him.

 

..and I wonder if it works the other way around too. Actually, I'm fairly sure it does and I think that's why Marv has struggled to get in the team. I think players who have more skill than workrate will struggle under Pardew, in a similar way to the way players like Robert struggled under Souness - though I think Pardew is a better man manager than Souness.

Apparently Fenerbahce have just made an offer for Cisse today. The Turkish transfer window closes tonight.

Seriously, I thought De Jong is meant to be his replacement.
So we would have Remy, Shola, De Jong and Gouff as forwards.

 

Three out of four aint bad.

 

Gouffran's been pretty good this season though.

 

With De Jong coming in, Cisse will be seen by Ashley as surplus to requirements and we will sell as soon as the chance comes along.
Not saying I agree with it, but, he's hardly enhanced his rep last summer or this season.

We have to play De Jong the rest of the season and see if he's worth buying or not, so its going to be De Jong, Remy and then Shola as back up.

Doesn't look like he'll be leaving. I've really had enough of Ameobi so I'd like to see him play with Marveaux in the number 10. Those two on the pitch together resulted in goals last season.

 

I had enough of him ten years ago. This will be his last season though save something horrible happening and him being given a new contract which surely could never, ever happen.

 

Haha, me too. I remember my distress when his transfer away fell through a few years back and again when he signed that contract extension. His rare decent moment has always been outweighed by a wealth of mediocrity.

 

I must have missed that game.
