We asked for a cross thread for the Derby which was turned down ...on the grounds that the board was seeking less profanity (and dog sex pictures for Joker) as -so we were told, Mick wants this to be a a family oriented site and the ensuing Newcastle-Sunderland thread would be the cause of too much abuse. Apparently the system goes like this: a post is made, someone doesn't like it so they complain (presumably to their own mods). They don't get the result they want so they then go bleating to supermods brb/Posh who in turn ban people, delete posts or whole threads because it might be deemed as offensive ...This has happened twice recently on the Sunderland Board, where brb/Posh have got involved completely unnecessarily by banning people and removing threads when they can have no inkling of the people as individuals, the dynamics of the board in question or the root causes behind these unhealthy debates. Why they do this is beyond me, though on both occasions they have been less welcome than a fart in a spacesuit and we lost 1 very good poster who was needlessly banned following the 1st fracas. Calling on Mick, do you want a nice tame PG not606, is this your master-stroke business plan?
Tbh anyrhing to do with Sunderland is pretty offensive to your average human being so stop whinging like a daft women and get the tatties peelt
I have noticed that tags about a specific dog-raping Geordie ****wit have been getting deleted. Mick, this may seem like a stretch in logic but surely you should ban the dog-raping Geordie ****wit, thus ending any need for the abuse that he receives, rather than gagging other posters?
Sunderland posters smugs and funkadelic went out on to the Leeds and Hull boards trolling, then run back to the protection of the Sunderland board and their group when things kick off. The only thread/post that got deleted was by a Sunderland mod! smugs got banned from the Leeds board and funkadelic got banned from the Hull board both on requests of the relevant board mods. Justified or not I agree is arguable but i really ain't got the time to deal with an inquest on this ****. Maybe they should have been left to play but looking at this thread the Sunderland board went into its own mini meltdown, without any help from the supermods...http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/248711-I-m-calling-for-a-mod-step-down Accept for one post by me #68 So the supermods are not welcome like a fart in a spacesuit but the tandem that is smugs and funkadelic should be allowed to fart all over the place. I wish you all a good day
I think what Posh / brb / myself want most of all is an easy life. I get at an arsehole a day complain about his own particular injustice, half the PMs or Emails I get are like this: 'I am a Man Utd fan and was only having a bit of banter on the Liverpool board and wasn't being serious and now I'm banned - this is a grave injustice and I demand you let me back in there'. They then go on to link me to about 10 threads of other people who haven't got banned. Honestly, people need to get over themselves - bad things happen to good people, the universe does not revolve around you, nobody cares. I just can't be annoyed reading a 10 page thread to see if your banter was within limits or not and then upset some mod by over ruling them, that's why we have mods, to use their judgement in their own fiefdoms. If you go on to another team's board and manage to upset the mods on there then tough titties. If a super-mod comes on to your board and does not make the optimal decision then try to give them a break - they are not paid for this and I very much doubt they enjoy it (I was very selective in super-mods, to find people who are not the power-trip kind).
Says the fan of The Thin White Prince. Always blabbing on about how his elder brother introduced him to 70's music.
Aye, what a startling thought that is. An older sibling influencing your musical tastes. I'm a fan of Bach too. Maybe the ghost of my great-great-great grandfather introduced me to him.
