True! Mayuka's goal reminds me of those ones Bale seemed to score a lot of when he'd drift across the front of the box until a gap appeared. I'm still really hoping Mayuka benefits from this loan spell, he's never going to play as a lone striker in this league, but as a wide forward I think he has something about him.
Why does the Goalkeeper dive without his hands out? Great goal though - also think he could have a role for us in the future!
Video of goal and more importantly the front-flip celebration : I hate these videos that you can't embed.
Mayuka on Instagram has told Saints fans he is coming back to Southampton. Not sure why - injured? Recalled?
Hope he's been recalled. He's obviously found some form with Sochaux and he can definitely have an impact for Saints.
Had a look and wonder if there might have been some wires crossed. Says he's coming home, not sure he'd necessarily call Southampton home. Then answers a fan with (paraphrasing) "back to Southampton soon" which doesn't necessarily mean imminently. Sochaux have a break until January 11th so he might be going to Zambia for xmas. Could indeed mean he's coming back, but it's ambiguous.
Just did a check myself. Turns out he got an ankle injury vs Nice on Wednesday. Back to Southampton for treatment and Christmas?
Any updates? Who's on Mayuka watch? Should we have called him back when Dani decided to spaz out? EDIT he's back from injury, came on as a sub.
Why not? Only downside is wages. Yes we have Gallagher coming through but Were hoping for a cup run and an injury a to a forward = **** creek.
